Word on SV spool for Zillion?
Has anybody heard whether or not Daiwa is going to make an SV spool for a Zillion? I know the shorter SV spools won't fit.

Re: good budget bladed swim jig
Looking for a quality bladed swim jig for about $3 up to $3.50. Not a fan of the z-man POS chatter baits with the awful quality control and cheapy skirt though. As has been said, make your own. Lurepartsonline.com, Barlowstackle.com. They have pre-made painted heads, blades, snaps, and already made...

Re: Braid backing
What braid do you use to back your reels? Or, do you use mono? I'm a little confused on backing your reels so any helpful tips would be great. I want to back my reels because then I get more uses on the spools I buy instead of just 1 or 2. Will cheap, made in china braid from ebay effect performanc...

Re: changing or repair hook keepers help
thanks for the help guys. having zero experiencing with rod building, i guess i just could not imagine how they get that clear, glossy stuff (flexcoat?) cleanly off. todd, i searched on TW and can't find what you're describing. regardless, it doesn't sound like something i'm interested in. it's int...

Re: Best Time for Night Fishing
Hi toddmc, I guess my question was not clear. What time of night is the best time to fish or does it make any difference? Do I go at 6pm and fish till midnight. Do I start at midnight and fish into dawn. Do I go at 10pm and fish till 6am. Just would like some input about when to go. Is there any ti...

Re: Best Time for Night Fishing
I have tens of thousands of hours of night fishing experience. I loved reading Doug Hannon's works when I was a teenager and I thought I should keep very detailed logs of all of my excursions and that I should be very scientific about fishing. Well, thirty years and many logs later, the answer to th...

Re: DROP SHOTTING
The round and teardrop weights are more sensitive, but they hang up more. The skinny weights fish better in the grass and rocks. Tungsten is more sensitive and hangs up less than lead. Lead weights are bigger for the same weight and the lead tends to dig into cracks and crevices. With tungsten, you ...

Re: SS SV
I googled pictures of the SS SV and Steez internals. The aluminum SS SV main gear doesn't look like it has the four slots that the Steez main gear has, but it looks like the SS SV has a really thick aluminum (or some other light material) that may take up the extra space that a normal Steez drag st...

Re: New Zillion - We want info!
If it has the same jutting brake dial as the tatula In the same location then I have to pass. That dial is in the exact location to where I wrap my finger when holding the reel. Everyone says the reel is great and I'm sure the new zillion will be but it's amazing how such a small detail can sway so...

Re: alternatives to mattlures ultimate bluegill
It depends on whether you want a single hook. The 3:16 Sunfish is great for slow-rolling, but it has a treble hook and it is not great around heavy grass. Jerry Rago, Little Creeper, and Storm all make a single hooked bluegill baits that can be fished in the grass. Look on Tackle Warehouse under "so...

Re: changing or repair hook keepers help
I don't like the Fuji rubberband keepers either. As Matt said, almost any builder can add them. Just google rod builders in Sac or call a few tackle shops. Mudhole has a few varieties of keepers, thread, and flexcoat if you want to do it yourself. Open ended keepers are nice to place on the middle o...
