Re: Daiwa/Simms shirt
The Simms stuff is good. My girlfriend just bought me the whole clothing catalog on the Sunline site. This Sunline Aftco shirt is the coolest of all of the major fishing apparel brands that I have tried because the material is incredibly light. https://sunlineamerica.com/collections/clothing-gear/pr...

You can't mention the CA Delta without mentioning Dee.

Re: Steez “the one”
Talk to me about it. Main use will be 1/8oz shakyheads. Currently use an Orochi XX shakyhead but hate the way the lock not rubs on my hand due to the way I hold it That can easily be fixed with the tennis grip of your choice. It makes holding any rod a lot more comfortable. Every other sport uses s...
Re: F vs XF
Some great info here. Thank you. I have a number of XF rods, one of which is the aforementioned NRX+ 852C. As I think about how I have them set up they are mostly on jigs and other bottom contact baits. I also use a lot of thin wire stuff with braid and a fluoro leader, so I will be sure to check d...
Re: F vs XF
I think I lost my appetite for XF tapers after fishing the NRX 852 for a while. It's an awesome rod, it's just limited in its application because it's XF. It does bottom contact well (except for dropshot, there's a reason the DSR models have a slower taper), but for moving baits the 852 is problema...

Re: Sharpest factory hardbait trebles
The Jackall hardbaits are good also. Almost all high-end baits are good. I replaced a few worn out trebles on some Evergreen and Lucky Craft baits recently with KVD Short Shank 2X Triple Grip hooks, and I am pretty impressed with them. Most of my hardbaits get Owner trebles (mostly ST-36), but ther...

No platform is dead if it has a good palming profile for you and it has spool options that are suitable to some type of presentation that you like?

Re: Ygk G-soul Upgrade vs Ss112
I got tired of waiting for it because the dates keep getting pushed back. I ordered some of this

instead. I have been meaning to try it for a while. I'll do a write up when I get a chance.

You will most likely have to fish braid with toads, flukes, and other single hook plastics.

Re: Night fishing and lighting
I'm a tournament bass fisherman. Night tournaments are my specialty. When I am in the back of a cove where there won't be any high speed vessels, I illegally turn off my lights when the big engine isn't running. I know that I am nowhere near another boat. It's just what most guys do. Your eyes will ...

Re: Must have topwaters
The 80's were all about the Pop-R, Spook, and Devil's Horse as a kid. I later gravitated to the Japanese poppers like the Damiki D-Pop 70 and Michael. I still throw all sizes of spooks for open water. I've thrown in the Shower Blows and Pompadour lately to mix things up with the hardbaits. I still t...

Re: Got spooled... Anyone else?
I've been fishing more shallow spools lately, and I still have yet to have this happen over thousands of days of fishing. I've caught a ton of huge carp and catfish on finesse bass gear without ever getting spooled. Many of those catches were on ultra light spinning tackle. I had a lake record 22.5 ...

Re: Big girl from this morning....
May is a magical buzz bait month. I’ve caught thousands of pond fish on those triple wing buzzbaits I wish that they were made like they used to be. The last time that I tried to buy a few I was disgusted. The blades are way too thin and their lead pours and hooks aren’t even slightly acceptable. It...
