Re: Best Daytime Topwater Colors for Clear Lakes
clear water and sunlight make for wary fish. Throw natural or subtle colors. Chrome might be too bright. I fish clear water reservoirs, 20+ feet of visibility with little to no cover for fish. I mainly throw ghost shad colors or silver (not chrome). Fishing for smallmouth, largemouth and trout. Bone...

Re: Spring Favorites
where are you? What kind of water clarity/vegetation/structure? Spring in Florida versus spring in Maine- you're throwing two different things.

Re: Favorite Jerkbait NOT named LC or Megabass
Owner Cultiva Rip'n Minnow I have been using the 65 size for trout and cold water bass for over 10 years now...still produce! Discovered this lure this past November and have been using them for trout fishing. Never thought I'd find anything that would out-fish a pin's minnow, but this is it. GREAT...

Re: Best or your favorite line for jerk/rip baits?
question- are you using a bc or spinning reel? Not a big fan of fc lines on spinning reels. On a spinning reel, throwing jerks in cold water, I like to use a copoly such as P-line CX or Sufix Elite in either 8 or 10 lb depending on size of lure. I fish a lot of weedy lakes in NJ, so fishing jerks ov...

Re: Rippin Rapala Lipless Crankbaits
I was using the Owner Cultiva lipless and made the switch over to Rip'n Rap last summer after winning a lot of them on ebay. Love them! I'm relatively new to the lipless world, but using the Rapala has made me very comfortable throwing them. I use a few of the lighter colors and have caught bass, pi...

check out fishgillz on amazon. I bought a pair in the teens and they're terrific. They also float if they fall in the water.

Re: Yo-Zuri - Yay or Nay??
any of the pin's minnows are killers for trout and smallies in the rivers. I use the suspending edge minnow in NJ as a shallow 1' suspender on shallow and weedy lakes- bass and pickerel love it. The sashimi is awesome in clear water for bass and the occasional pickerel.

Re: shipping from BPS, cabelas and tacklewarehouse
I order from Cabela's just as often as from TW. I'm in NJ. TW products usually arrive in 3-5 business days after order is placed. Cabelas products usually arrive in 5-8 business days after order is placed. I made the mistake of ordering two products from BPS on March 13. As of today, I still haven't...

Re: BEST Ice-Out soft plastic?
I live in NJ and a guide I fished with on the Delaware for winter smallies said if my cast took less than 4 minutes to reel in- I'm fishing too fast. Go slower than you think and impart less action than you think you need.
