No joke. That's a major oversight.

Re: Majorcraft Corzza

I have the ms-x 65ML. It has no problem pitching/casting down to an eighth. I mostly use mine for shakey heads and wacky worms, but it's great for spybaits and small cranks/poppers, too. It's lighter and more sensitive than the volkey, which is closer to the corzza, I think, but the volkey's still a...

Re: Tatula 6101MHFB

That's my T-Rig rod. It's very sensitive and lightweight with a sweet tip and plenty of backbone. It seems lighter in power than other MH daiwa's, like the 711MHRB or 711MHXB tatulas, for instance. It'll blow your mind for weightless-3/8th oz t rigged creatures and worms because it casts them so ef...

Re: Tatula "Glass" Cranking Rod

I have both models and they're great rods. Even though the top half is glass, they still have a lot of backbone and sensitivity. I use the medium for general cranking duties in the 3/8-5/8 range and the medium heavy for squarebills, small swimbaits, topwaters, duo G87's, traps... Just read the TT r...

Re: Question for Major Craft Speedstyle 68L BFS rod owners

I can't get it to cast 1/16, either. I think 1/8th is the more reasonable lower bound.

Re: Question for Major Craft Speedstyle 68L BFS rod owners

I throw spinbait 80's just fine on my volkey 68L. They're closer to a third of an ounce, but it's only a gram less. I also throw 1/4 oz cranks just fine on it, not to mention 1/16-1/8 shakey heads with 6" Roboworms and flick shake rigs.

Re: Suggestions for a travel rod

Ardito, all the way. Like others have said, you'd never know it wasn't a one piece. I have the 7' med heavy and love using it. The case it comes with is really nice amd durable. It's more of a heavy and fishes on the extra side of fast. Perfect for 1/2 oz jigs. I like it for spinnerbaits and squareb...

Re: Just how *regular* is a Daiwa regular taper

Oh, definitely. The reaction rods fish mod-fast and have plenty of backbone. I use the 711mhrb for jigs just fine. It helps if you use braided line, but it's not necessary. You'll get a little better casting distance, too. In my experience with wacky worms, it seems they tend to hook themselves for ...

Re: Best $300ish baitcaster for skipping jigs around docks

I don't know about that necessarily. I'm sure it varies from person to person, but I definitely find it more manageable than my other reels, so I get better distance. I'm not the best jig skipper in the world, either, so a noticeable improvement to me might prove non-existent to you. You wouldn't t...

Re: Best $300ish baitcaster for skipping jigs around docks

JDM twing zillion 9:1 has constantly been blowing my mind for skipping jigs. Heck yeah, man! I have the USDM version and that thing is a beast! I adjust the spool tension for casting, turn the brakes halfway up, and skip 1/2 oz jigs with rage chunk trailers with that mounted on a Tatula flip stick ...
