what feather's for ledge jigs?
I have been tying my ledge jigs using rabbit zonker strips/bucktail but would like to add a feather or two. I can't tell by looking at pictures on the interweb what kind of feather's I should buy. Could someone tell me what type of feather i should use. Probably going to purchase from Jans/Barlows/o...

Re: Good trailer for swim jig?
For regular swim jigs I use a keitech easy shiner swim bait for shad imitations such as the silver flash or pro blue, but for sunfish imitations I use a regular not fat swim impact in the pro special color, simply because they don't make that color in the easy. I know a lot of people just use a simp...

Re: Weighing Down a Jerkbait...Advantageous???
Some of one tens float a bit fast when the water is super cold or 60+. I put a tiny split shot on a bend of 1 of the front hooks which keeps the bait in a downward position. I definitely get more strikes especially when those 20 second pauses are necessary. I love jerk season, it comes and goes too ...

Re: Smalljaw's Hair jigs
Yeah, I made about 25 this winter. I've been making jigs w/ Bucktails and fox for years but wanted to expand. I made many finesse jigs with maribou under silicone several bucktail, maribou/ silicone jigs on light.football heads and a few buck/maribou swimjigs. I also made some big musky jigs for a f...

Smalljaw's Hair jigs
I have been tying my own jigs for years. I have been tying bucktail under silicone for most of those years. Recently, I've discovered his YouTube videos. I have learned so much about using alternatives and have been creating some really nice jigs that I hope will be very successful this spring for t...

Re: Custom painted
I got a bunch of 6th sense 110's made up in a discontinued MB 110 color that you can't buy on e-bay for less than a 100$. Mossback/YFT. the color is nearly dead on and the bait is nearly identical to the real deal 110.

Re: Swim Jigs....when to use them???
Ham Solo, that's funny. I fish a swim jig from 65* to 75*. I have done best, fishing them through lay down's and sprarse weeds in clear/shallow water 2-8ft. I tie my own and use an olive shad pattern(matches the local minnows) and a gill color thats green/blue and orange. I hang a 4in keitech ez shi...

Re: Double Senko Rig?
You could probably use the same rig you do for a double fluke rig, which I love to throw. its a 14in line tied on a swivel above a swivel tied to the main line which is around 18-20in. If your fishing your senko's wacky, the hooks will foul, but if your looking to fish them weedless they'll fish nic...

jigs or creatures/plastics in summer
I have always relied on plastics more than jigs in summer, besides throwing heavy football jigs to deep structure, does anyone stay with jigs in summer or am i right in changing over to mainly RI Beavers now that the waters in the mid 70's. I make a ton of jigs and feel like they sit in the box from...

Re: Calling all soft jerk bait fanatics
I use two soft jerks, First choice is the keitech and the second is the SK caffeine shad. I have been doing very well with the double fluke rig this spring with the sk kvd magic color and keitch silver flash and pro blue
