Re: Nrx 853c?

Tim from tactical basin even says he dropshots and shakes heads with it...personally I wouldn’t lol. The only things it won’t do is cranks and jerkbaits as it’s too fast. Other than that anything a sensitive 3 power rod will do it will excel at. Use mine for small paddle tails

Re: Newer Reels

There has been maybe one or two half true statements in this entire tirade. Can we just call this thread what it is: people being scared of change ](*,) There have always been cheapo reels and high end reels through Daiwa and Shimanos past. I would not trade what Daiwa or Shimano is doing today for ...

Re: Nrx 853c?

Sell it if you need the money because once you fish it you'll be getting rid of that Helium. Jigs, t-rigs, spinnerbaits, great soft jerkbait rod, senkos, and a dynamite jig skipping rod around docks and low lying cover...light tip but can steer any fish away from trouble. I personally love that rod.

Re: Is Zillion SV worth cost over Tatula SV?

I'm very happy you're impressed with the Tatula SV TW! Thank you for the purchase and giving us the opportunity to tweak it up a bit before delivery! I'm a fan of the Zillion SV TW myself, as much as I enjoy the Tatula SV TW, the Zillion SV TW gets the nod from me out of the box, before upgrades. T...

Re: Is Zillion SV worth cost over Tatula SV?

I also thought the Tatula felt more refined and solid, but I never owned the Zillion SV just played with them in the store and tried my buddies last year. I don’t have one for comparison sake but I couldn’t imagine how much other than the spool would be different. I’ll probably end up with one anyway.

Re: Steez Limited 105 paint ?

I've never owned one. More like refused to buy one, but from the countless pics I've seen, it appears the top coat is what peels. So if the new top coats properties don't jive with the old, it could potentially lead to worse problems. I would consult a professional coatings paint store manager or s...

Is Zillion SV worth cost over Tatula SV?

Can't believe I'm asking this lol. The old Tatula I used, of my buddies felt pretty unrefined, but I finally took the plunge and bought one of the Tatula SV TW's, late to the party I know lol. I had TackleTrap throw in some ZPI spool bearings and add two bearing to the levelwind and wow I am shocked...

Re: Any news or excitement about Jackall Poison USDM drop?

I had the chance to handle all the models this past weekend at our sports show. All rods feel super light, more balance than Zodias rods, I haven't fish Exprides so I can't compare. Yes, all rods are 1p. I'm looking for sensitivity close to GLX/NRX, but better cosmetics and the CI4 reel seat is my ...

Re: Any news or excitement about Jackall Poison USDM drop?

I personally cant wait!! But can anyone confirm if they were a significant difference in the blank between the old Jackall Poison and the Expride? Jackall is a collaborative effort with Shimano and Jackall. Expride is Shimano only. Different materials and technologies are used in these two differen...

Re: Shimano Expride 7’ light+ thoughts

I have the 7' medium and personally love that rod for dropshots and shakeyheads. I think the ML would be great for smaller stream fishing smallmouth and spots and possibly fishing smaller dropshots or something, but personally would have no use for the 7' Light for bass fishing.

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?

Interesting points about reels, I agree and disagree at the same time ;). I like my Steez reels and my customized/upgraded TD-Z's. I'm a fan of a lighter high end reel, I'm a fan of the smoothness, the "reeling in butter" feel you get with the higher end gear. That being said, I've posted a few tim...

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?

Every Steez rod I’ve ever tried and same with Dobyns Wow... Don't get me wrong the Steez rods in particular are high quality nice rods, but when we're talking overrated I take into account the cost of the rod...and particularly when I can buy an Expride or similar rod on eBay and it has more sensit...
