Re: Stren and Berkley one in the same?
Pradco is the name of the group that owns Booyah, Bomber, Silverthread, Creek Chub, Smithwick, Yum and a few other brands. I have no idea why I couldn't think of it a minute ago. I can't find anywhere that directly links the two, but anytime you see an All Star/Pflueger pro, they're almost always a ...

Re: Stren and Berkley one in the same?
The Purefishing group is scary in it's scope now. I could have sworn Shakespeare was owned by the Booyah group before, because of they way their products are sold in combos a lot of times. All Star/Pflueger/Shakespeare are part of one group, but that same group is tied in with Booyah somehow I know,...

Core: Home for now
http://i9.tinypic.com/54l0391.jpg http://i14.tinypic.com/4y0qosp.jpg http://i14.tinypic.com/6g145z9.jpg I'm having Matt (Otter Rods) build a custom murdered out rod for it. No real details now, but it's going to be something really different than anything I've seen so far. I can't wait to get the t...

Picked up my Core from Cabelas earlier. Very impressed so far.

Re: TRILENE FLUOROCARBON LINE
The XPS is good, but doesn't last worth a darn. Two-three trips max and it's time to respool. The Sunline has lasted the longest for me, but it's kinda stiff. Best I've used so far for a combination of castability and longevity has been the P-Line Halo, but I'm always looking. I'll probably end up g...

Re: Your favorite fishiing combo?
My fishing-catchingest combo is my Powell 704ced/Revo STX HS. Put many a stringer together with that one. My lightest, that still catches a lot, is my Powell 703cef and 50Mg.

Re: Very mad, killed a Bass
Freak stuff happens and you can't kick yourself for it. Fish, a lot of times, are like crops or cattle. They need to be thinned or turned over. When Toledo Bend was in it's heyday, folks were filling up coolers every day, but that's another story. Here's something to make you not feel so bad. Last w...

That rod is actually on my order sheet for this year, which I am about to send in. I know I may be prostaff, but I try to be as subjective as humanly possible. I'll let you know what it's characteristics are at least.

Re: My state chamionship got moved to heaven
Fishing has been tough, but the guys still bringing in good sacks are "Welding" or "scraping". 1oz-1.5oz jigs fished in hydrilla in 25-30 ft of water. This is full contact fishing. 7'6" flippin sticks, 65lb braid and a lot of guts.

Re: Daiwa Advantage HSTA
Got a chance to actually go fish this reel tonight. WOW, this thing rockets weightless plastics. I was blown away the first time I loaded up and chunked a LFT Magic swim shad (Javallon). Either I'm really good at guessing drag settings or this thing is special. Usually I need to do a bit of tweaking...

Re: Daiwa Advantage HSTA
I would be taking it out tonight but it's a downpour out there. Infact, about 5 more inches and Lake Grapevine may be fishable from my balcony.

OK, OK, OK...what's is the actual release date on the Core? July 10 was what I was led to believe.

Daiwa Advantage HSTA
Got my hands on a new Advantage HSTA today. I actually got it last night, but had a pull plate and forgot to go check my mail until right before I went to bed. This thing is smoooooth. I love my Revos and 50MG's, but this reel is VERY nice for the price. Pitching around the living room it feels very...
