Re: Flipped my yak

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Sorry for the delay, but I've been without a phone for a couple of days. I just finished my week of vacation, and today was the first day back working from home. I have to admit it's been one of the best stay at home vacations in a long time. Went biking, did a co...

Flipped my yak

I've been river kayak fishing for over 17 years. Out of those years, I've only flipped out of my yak two times. Yesterday, was one of them, and another time I spilled on the New River. The gear on the float. Poison Adrena 1610 ML / Steez CT Poison Ultima 1610 L BFS / Aldebaran BFS w/ K.T.F spool Dob...

I won a few solid auctions from japan and they were sent out on 4/21 before japan post stopped shipping. My packages are still sitting in purgatory at Tokyo intl.
Purgatory sounds about right. LOL

Re: Shipping times nowadays

I purchased a rod from JDM Heaven. It took them a couple of days to process / package the rod. Their communication was excellent! FedEx got me the rod in 4 days. I purchased some Sunline small game braid from Singapore (Shimreels) on 4/30, with free shipping, and I'm still waiting. I've purchased fr...

Re: Alphas Airstream Custom or Steez CT for BFS

Why comparing Alphas ASC to Steez CT, not to Alphas CT? I have Alphas CT and Air BFS bearings in it and KTF and Roro spools to it. I use mainly KTF. I hope you're correct. If so, this reel is probably the best bang for the buck. Last night, I installed the KTF spool and added a Hedgehog AIR brg to ...

Re: Alphas Airstream Custom or Steez CT for BFS

I own both. I really think you would need an aftermarket spool for either of those reels. ASC - The fixed rotor is fine for casting light lures, but I wouldn't want that reel for BFS lake fishing (long casts or pitching). If you can source an airy red Pixy spool, then you would have the best of both...

Re: Champion Extreme 702C Info

No issues with a 1/16 oz head and a half leeched out Zinkerz or a TRD Ticklerz. It does alright with the ned stuff, but might be a touch too powerful. Wish they still offered the 701C. The 702C is a great bottom contact rod. I really like fishing 2.5" tubes t-rigged with either a 1/16 or 1/8 bullet ...

Re: Daiwa Alphas Air TW 2020

 - I just bought an Alphas CT to go with my orange KTF spool. That's alright, since I really like its "Presso" like color scheme. I couldn't justify spending that much money on a Steez Air and an aftermarket KTF spool. I'm up for purchasing the Alphas Air TW. Guessing KTF will offer a lighter s...

Re: New Fenwick Techna

Happy anniversary goldrod! Thanks for the update on the new Techna's. I've always been a fan of the original Techna series. I was originally bummed on this new release, since Fenwick didn't mention the use of any of their Aramid Veil designs, like Timco/Fenwick offers. That's good to hear about the ...

Re: Presso Spool

The Presso spool has a fixed inductor. It casts differently than the airy red, PX68 or ACS. It's more suited to cast out 3/16 oz hard baits or greater. You have to put a little more into your cast to get the distance, but the spool is very tame. I have very little issues using light braid on this s...
