Re: Sunline Xplasma Asegai
I've had 16 lb on my Steez CT SV for the season, and the coating has caused some dig in issues. I regularly use 10 - 15 lb braid on Daiwa & Shimano casting reels with no dig in issues. Just an observation. There's some fading on the light green, but I've had zero break offs. It's nice not having an...

Re: Loose rod grip
I would wrap the EVA with painters tape, and keep rotating the rod until the crazy glue sets. When I rehabbed the cork on my old Powell Max, I just used a shoe box with the lid off and cut halfmoon tabs on the top of the box to lay the rod on. It makes it easier to rotate the rod. Good luck on the f...

Re: Fenwick KTF GWT60L
That's a tough question, since my computer and phone have been auto translating for a very long time. I know I had to turn it off to place an order on Karil.co.jp. I believe this is how to set it up. In Google chrome, go to settings, advanced settings, and click on language. Set your default languag...

Please share some pics when you get it. I hope you catch some monsters on the Fenwick KTF.

Re: Fenwick KTF GWT60L
I haven't used any of the KTF / Teimco Fenwick rods, but I've been admiring them for a very long time. I still have a Techna AV spinning rod that still works great for moving baits. I target +20" brown trout, rainbows, and the occasional skamania in my local flows. Over the years, I find myself movi...

Re: All ready for some small stream trouting...
Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed seeing the river pics. I haven't done one thing yet to prepare for spring trout. Now, I really regret selling my Presso casting rod, for the small water.

Great guy to deal with. Pao provided excellent communication, and did an awesome job packaging the rod I purchased.

Re: fantasista regista
Drove home, during lunch, to check out the 6'10" Fantasista that got dropped off by UPS. The rod shipped from Hodgkins, Il, so I was hoping it would get to Michigan in good shape. It's everything I expected it to be. I've been wanting to try a Fanatasista for a long time. What a steal for $158 shipp...

Nice 23.62" brown trout! Bet that was a fun battle.
I'm appreciating the Alphas air stream more and more.

Re: Bearings have me Perplexed
Its probably due to several years of neglect. The lubricant (oil / grease) separated and the filler material dried/burned up and also probably got contaminated with dirt. This may have caused abrasion around the raceway (rough polishing effect), which causes the balls to skid and not rotate properly...

Re: Alphas air stream custom
Couple more pics from today. The reel casts lighter baits better than my Presso, but it's fussy, especially on a breezy day. Was mostly using a Duo Realis Minnow 80SP and LC Pointer 65sp. The drag is buttery smooth, and handled the larger fish in the current with ease. Was using Maxima 10 lb braid w...

Re: Alphas air stream custom
Broke mine in on a small river. It does a great job casting out light lures, but I'm still liking my Aldebaran 16 BFS w/ the KTF spool better. guess I need more time on the water with it. Wish I didn't sell my ML Presso rod, and will need to find something to match up with the reel. The Pixy rod was...
