Re: Bantam MGL 8 vs. 7

I haven't personally compared the two, but I would assume that with this frame and gearing pair, there would be no lost torque between the ratios.

Re: New 2018 Stella FJ and Bantam MGL

I was going to pick up another K series or two... Looks like I'll be getting a pair of Bantam's instead. Can't wait to try it out.

Re: ZPI The-Pride vs Metanium tuned with ZPI parts

I thought it was pretty interesting that it has magnetic brakes in it, rather than the traditional centrifugal braking system. That should turn it into a completely different reel in terms of casting.

The straight handle is also odd... :-s

Re: New Senko/Neko Rod

David,

I agree with you. But I said Neko, not Ned.

I'm really leaning towards the 852C in either the IMX Pro or GLX (if I can find the right deal). But the Expride is still in contention.

Shimano is on to something with these dust black finished reels (Exsense and Curado K). Man they look sharp.

Great write up. Like you mentioned, I'm in the camp of thinking this may be the best Curado yet. We'll see how it stands up over time.

I agree. It looks ugly and lower end. Hopefully these are early prototype's and they'll clean them up for production.

It's got a shallow spool and limited line capacity, so bombing a rattle trap out there isn't going to work too well.

Re: Alphas SV or Other?

I've never thrown hardbaits with my SV105, but I don't see why it wouldn't handle it.

However, my Chronarch MGL with 11lb. Defier on it will bomb a 1/4oz. Baby 1-. The MGL spools are very versatile.
