Re: What's next for Daiwa...
So, you know how Magforce Z works and in your opinion it is linear mag brake.

Re: What's next for Daiwa...
Daiwa’s warranty repair tech doesn’t know how Magforce V/Z works. Wow. This reminds me of a kung fu parody where one of the monks was deliberately tought wrong. Just for fun. I guess someone did the same thing when teaching how Daiwa’s braking works. If I’ll send my Magforce Z reel in for repair the...

Re: Daiwa Zillion SV TW
Measurements are done and results are interesting at least in my opinion. (It’s clear that this is not accurate as science but still results are obvious). There’s no same spring in (my) Steez 103 spool vs. (my) OG HLC Zillion. Test arrangement was following: To tie lines to movable inductors with s...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
For Japan made stuff I understand that there’s R&D costs, quality control costs, high labor costs. But for chinese stuff... Exactly. I know little of R&D, factory quality control etc. To some degree, I can follow your thoughts (and agree with you). Still, how much R&D can there be - remove the spoo...

Re: Zillion HLC
This spool needs higher RPM for the inductor to extend but one thing you could check is to remove the side plate, turn brakes to the max and see if the notches on the brake rings align. If not then the bigger ring has come loose and needs to be glued back on.

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
Are the lightweight spools so much more expensive to produce? I mean normal spools for chinese reels cost about 4-10$ at Aliexpress. SV inductor costs 5$. But chinese spools for Daiwa reels cost 40$+. Even 40$ feels like a rip-off.

Zillion TW 1516XXHL grinding feel
I’ve spent several hours exchanging parts from another Zillion trying to figure out what causes grinding feel for about 1/3 of a turn of a handle. When I hold the reel normally in hand and crank then there is grinding. When I turn the reel upside down (reel foot facing sky) and crank then there is n...

Re: Bantam MGL reviews?
Is this plastic pawl unique to Bantam or can it be replaced with a metal pawl from some other reel?

Re: T3 not compatible with SV103 Spool?
Tried the spool in a T3 SV with a loose cast control and indeed - the spool does not move freely.

Re: Abu Garcia WTF's
But who and where said MGXtreme2 is trash? I owned that reel. I had about 50 baitcasting reels from Shimano and Daiwa when I bought it and it didn’t impress me. So I sold it to fund another Daiwa SV103. I also had a Revo Beast and it was uncomfortable to palm with every reel seat I tried. So I sold...

Re: Abu Garcia WTF's
Dalleinf, Abu did great with their Ambassadeurs and with their first low profile reels. But they stopped innovating long time ago. I’ve skimmed through their reels feature lists and there is nothing new or distinctive.
Their reels are nice as long as they are not overpriced.
