Re: Revo STX and 1/4 oz lures

I can throw 3/16oz plastics on my STX all day long. Tackle Tour got it right when they said you can cast every lure in your tackle box with this reel.

Re: tested Steez vs Revo STX

Why do you people not realize this rating scale is based on opinion not fact. You portray it as fact. In fact there is only a 3% difference in the ratings listed above, therefore they are all but rated identical,so whats the point? I never stated it as fact. A review is just that, a REVIEW ;) But I ...

Re: Who is not sold on the Revos?

What's not to love about the Revo STX? I'd dare anyone to find a better performing reel with more features for under $200!

Re: tested Steez vs Revo STX

I don't know if they specifically went after the Steez or Calais or any other reel. I think that they just used some good ole common sense and looked at the market (and after-market) and said what can we (Abu) do to bring out a better product? The result was the Revo's. When you compare all the feat...

Re: tested Steez vs Revo STX

The Steez is lighter, but that is it. Please explain how it is more 'refined'?? I use to own a Steez until I sold it to buy another Revo STX. The STX will out distance the Steez in casting, has way more drag, and is every bit as smooth as the Steez. There was just a post the other day where D.R said...

Re: tested Steez vs Revo STX

GAMEOVER- man you most get in about 600 posts a day LOL. Saying the Steez is in a whole different league than the STX is just wrong. I sold my Steez and bought 2 more STX's. The Steez braking system is very finicky, especially in windy conditions. The STX has no trouble casting into the wind or hand...

Re: Boyd Duckett talks about his Classic win and the Revo's.

Okay I have been reading all these posts and find them excellent. A question to those that own a Revo; Is there much of a difference between the SX and the STX models? $50 is $50, but in reading about the Revo's it seems only difference is the worm gear. Thanks. O yes I might just as well lend my t...

Re: tested Steez vs Revo STX

All that type R and R+ tuning and it still gets smoked by the STX.

I love my Revos all 6 of them! Mine are all like my women, tight and smooth :!:

Looks like a cheap Pac Bay reelseat. Difinitely doesn't look like a Fuji. What type of guides are on that rod?

Re: Magforce Z vs Revo Linear braking

I agree with what the others have said about the Revo STX. All 3 of my Zillion's and my last 2 TD-Z's went on eBay the day after I fished with my new REVO STX.

Even my Steez is being now being sold to buy 2 more Revo STX'S!!!

Re: Alphas Type-F Retrieve vs. Curado 100D

I use to own the Alphas F.

I have 3 100D Curado's and I can tell you, with a whole lot of honesty, that the Curado 100D is a much smoother and better overall reel than the Alphas is. The Alphas (all types) have a weak drag compared to the 100D.

I think you meant that the Pixy isn't good enough for a GLX. ;)

My tackle snobbery extends to only using tungsten weights.

6-9 Helium LTA Kistler rod help

Hey guys, great site this is! i am in need of some help selecting a Kistler LTA rod for fishing soft plastics. I like the length of the 6'9'' MH casting rod but seems like most folks are using this set up for spinnerbaits and not soft plastics. Is this rod not a good choice for fishing soft plastics...
