Re: Rod pairing with Stella FK

I'm a huge fan of the Steez AGS 76MML as well, both in the original blue and the current red trimmed model. I find that as much as the 22 Exist LT is an incredible reel, it is too light for that specific rod. I have a Certate LT 3000CXH on my red trimmed 76MML. I don't have the Stella FK, but can i...

Re: Back in Love again

The SV103 reels do that for me. I have 11. And the OG Zillion and TD-Z frame the same! I did pick up a Procaster ZX (the blue one) new in the summer from the 80s. What a premium looking reel for the time! Ditto for the SV103. I have 3 of those as well. I lump them in with the OG Zillions though the...

Re: Back in Love again

This is how I feel about my OG Zillions. I have many and I don't have any plans to retire them, particularly for use on longer/heavier action rods.

Sorry, just to clarify the Finetail 6' L is not a glass rod, prob shouldn't have included that in my post.

Re: Fiberglass BFS Trout Rods

Major Craft Finetail Glass 4'10" UL paired with a Silver Creek TW Stream Custom Major Craft Finetail 6' L paired with a Alphas Air TW Got a chance to fish both rods for trout in steams and small rivers this past spring and really enjoyed both setups. Mostly throwing 4-4.5 gram minnow lures. Both are...

Re: What's Big to You? Talking about the Size of Bass

For me, fishing in the northeast, I would say anything over 4# is a good fish, over 5# is really nice, and 6# is a really big fish. I have only caught 2 bass over 6# in my 12 years or so of serious bass fishing. Still hoping to break the 7# mark some day. that's accurate up here (Canada) for Largie...

Re: NRX 901 SJR question

I'll get this out of the way since I'm sure it's coming...you should take a look at the Steez 7'6" M/ML "The One". I did actually just pick this rod up after reading all the glowing reviews and I fished it yesterday for the first time. I only threw a 1/4oz Keitech finesse football head with a TRD Cr...

The Expride 7'2" ML+ fits your criteria too, though on the short end of what you are looking for. Just another option to consider.

The wolf out of the box performance is outstanding
16# asgei on a edge black widow 703 1/8-3/8 and I’m tossing a keitech 4” easy shiner with only a hook like I have weight on it
Not familiar with that line. Are you running the stock spool or did you swap it out?

Sounds like the JDM Zillion HD would be a good option depending on your budget.

Re: New Finesse/BFS reel for salt water

I can't speak from experience, but it seems like the best compromise here would be the Alphas SV TW 800/800S with a 32mm spool. Also, you're not breaking the bank should you decide that you either need a reel more dedicated toward BFS or heavier presentations. If you're anything like the rest of us,...

Re: Aldebaran BFS 2022 Handle

Unfortunately, I am of no help. However, I will say that you are certainly not crazy for wanting to change the handle out. Every reel that I have ever fished that came stock with an 80mm handle got changed to 90mm. It's just so much more comfortable and I feel the slight increase in torque is a smal...

Re: Steez Finesse Game Special

To clarify, are you asking about the spinning version: STAGS711MLFS | 7'1" MedLight, Fast, 5-12lb, 1/8-3/8oz, "Finesse Game Special" or the casting version: STAGS681LFB | 6'8" Light, Fast, 5-12lb, 1/8-3/8oz, "Finesse Game Special"? They have similar specifications but, in my experience, have differ...

Re: Winter Time Presentation

I wanted to know what lipless did you use ? IMHO, not all lipless are good for that technique you described. Personally, I find the Jackall TN70 to be the absolute BEST lipless for that technique. Now its not the best lipless but for winter time or simply cold water lift and drop i dont think there...

Re: New Poison Glorious

Does anyone have any experience fishing the 7'4" MH+ yet? Didn't see anything mentioned about this particular model. Wondering if this would make a good 1/2oz jig and 5/16oz plus plastic t-rig rod. Any thoughts?
