Re: Dropshot rod decisions

I have the DX742 and love it for drop shotting, also have the Champ 702, so I assume the DX702 would be awesome as well

Re: Braid and heavy weights

My personal experience, that anything under 40lb braid for me digs into easy on my baitcasters and causes these problems

NEW Arashi's seem pretty legit, that self tuning tie seems to work great for me

Re: Chronarch CI4+ owners, any update?

Not sure, it is numbered 1 to 6 on external, if I had it on 4 and was getting minor over runs pitching and skipping around trees, then I could turn it up to 5 or 6 and pretty much eliminate it.

Re: Chronarch CI4+ owners, any update?

I picked up a 150HG from KrugerFarms.com, as they had them in pretty early. Have had it for a few weeks now, love it, will buy more! External brake adjustment is super handy as well for fine tuning.

Re: Punching/flipping JIG or PLASTIC?

I like to punch with a BassTEK 3/4oz Tungsten Jig when I can, it is just so much more efficient. Less fixing of baits, use less plastics, but sometimes they want something with slimmer profile, but if they'll eat it, I will always stick with the jig!

Sounds like you are on the right path, for what you are talking about, I really like my Dobyns DX 743C which is pretty close to what you are describing

Re: Rod for Tubes/Shakeyhead

I use mainly 702 and 742 Dobyns for these applications, that being said, I normally run braid to fluoro leader, if straight fluoro, I'd probably bump up to 703 & 743
