Re: Changing hooks on a suspending jerk?
When changing hooks on a suspending bait, you'll always have to check it out to make sure it suspends the same with different hooks. If you've already got the hooks, drop it in the water before you change them and see how it sits, then change em and see how it sits afterwards. If you don't have the ...

Re: The reason for recoils
I think it's worth mentioning that Loomis NRX rods were on the market a year or two before Fuji finally released Torzite guides to the masses...perhaps they refined them in that time, I don't know.

Re: The reason for recoils
"The Torzite guides groove." Dan, I cannot believe you made this statement. Until you can show some "lab tests" validating this as a fact, I say you are full of it. Shimano and Fuji have had an excellent business relationship for many years. If, and only if, Shimano found this type of flaw with Tor...

Re: C-rig reel size
Around here, our water is skinny (15 ft at the deepest point in freshwater), so a 100 spooled with 14lb Super Sniper fc is plenty for my c-rig needs there. I do fish a c-rig style rig at times in the salt with a 200 size reel, but that's more because my 100 is magnesium than it is because of line ca...

Re: cleaning and maintaining spinning reels
=D> Great advice guys! A lot of people are more intimidated by spinning reel maintenance, but as mentioned, it's really not much more difficult from casting reel maintenance. Just remember where parts go (take notes!), clean and re lube correctly, and replace the pieces properly, and your spinning r...

Re: Retention
After a quick google search (this has never happened to me either!), apparently the package is being held by your post office, and you will either receive the package in a couple of days, or you will receive notice to pick up the package at the post office. Weird, I know, but that's what the interne...

Re: Anybody know anything about what G. Loomis is teasing?
Now that the mystery is solved of what is being released (from Zona's Show, they appear to be E6X (whatever that is) cranking rods with full grip and lime green or chartreuse wraps around the label, the question remains of where this E6X ranks in terms of sensitivity (GLX equivalent, NRX level, etc...

I bet that thing would work great out in the brackish water near the coast around here.
Re: MG5
If you'll recall, there was no 5 ratio in the last iteration of the metanium (or its USDM counterpart, the core) either. There were, however, 5 ratios in the Curado and Chronarch E, but not in the JDM Scorpion xT. Might just be a USDM v. JDM thing.

Re: Don't Forget the Black Eye(d) Peas.
It may be a Southern thing or maybe even a Texas thing but my Grandmother taught me to always eat black eyed peas on New Year's Day for good luck. Why not? Who can't use some more good mojo? :D Same in Alabama & Mississippi, mighty good. :D Don't forget the greens for more money your way in the new...

Be careful when oiling the anti-reverse bearing, however, as too much lube can cause this bearing to slip.Drewgill wrote:I spoke with an Abu tech that said I should mix some oil in with the grease that is in the anti-reverse bearing to lower its viscosity.

Re: Tackle Tour Dot Com
Since I found Tackle Tour three or so years ago, I haven't paid MSRP for a rod or reel. That same money that would have been getting me Curados is getting me Metaniums and Chronarchs, and that Citica E I got for dirt cheap (cranking reel, not a technique I use often) performs better than any stock C...
