Re: Ultralight rods with micro thin tips
I have JDM rods with solid tips as small as 7/10 of a mm. Tict has a new rod on the market that is only .65 mm on the tip. You will not find these in the states....and I would venture to say no rod has ever been made here, or sold in the states with tips even remotely that small...the only rod....bl...

Re: Crappie rod
are the solid tip rods heavier? I know in the past companies like Fenwick came out with rods that were not hollow (from what I can recall they had a line called hard core graphite in the late 90s) and they ended up being very heavy. they never caught on here in the north American market. No they ar...

Re: Crappie rod
Solid tip UL rods have had a reputation of extreme fragility. Even at $100 bucks, a no guarantee JDM import is going to be seen as a risky investment. Also, from what I have read, material uniformity of the solid tip can still be an issue...that might have been solved in the more expensive rods per...

Re: Mebaru Vs Ajing difference
Ajing rods are much faster than Mebaru......much stiffer. I have a Tict Ice Cube Rockin' Drift that I bought for crappie and bluegill. In my opinion it could be called the finest rod for casting to crappie ever made. I use 1-2# test line on it. The sensitivity is off the charts. I regularly catch cr...

Re: UL rod for 1/64-1/16 oz jigs
I've narrowed it down to a finetail banshee, presso trout (jdm) or a Tict ice cube. I need the rod to handle 1/64-1/32 jigs, beetle spins and have enough power to get gills out of weed beds and handle crappies and perch too. Will fish 2-4 lb mono. Any pros on one over the others? Solid tip vs tube ...

Re: UL rod for 1/64-1/16 oz jigs
The one piece might be the tough find for what you are wanting. I have all 2 piece rods now and really do not prefer a one piece anymore now that I am using ferrule wax. The Major Craft FineTail Banshee Area 6' 7" fits the bill perfect for crappie and bluegill...it is listed as a light action but tr...

Re: Best combo for $200-$300
Am I confused, probably, does the Ci4 weight more than the Nasci 500? I thought the 1000Ci4 was 6 oz and the Nasci is about the same or more isn't it? Is Shimano not bringing the 500 Nasci state side? Not wanting to derail the thread. It seems from all the replies there are any number of ways to ge...

Re: My quest...
Finally got this thing out and seriously fished it today. Mounted a Stradic strung with Sufix 4# FC. Managed 8 or 9 brown fish, from dinks to about 14", lost or missed as many again, and a greenie that went about 3#. This rod performs better than I ever hoped for. Certainly the most sensitive stick...

Re: High end Ultralight Daiwa reels now offered in USA

Re: High end Ultralight Daiwa reels now offered in USA

I know tackle warehouse had 1 Luvias 1003 in stock and at least 3 Certates at least as of yeterday......Tad more than bass.jp or digitaka but they can be serviced at Daiwa USA so that ...

Re: High end Ultralight Daiwa reels now offered in USA
Hey guy's, Decided I needed to come back to the UL forum here on TT. Thought I would let those who don't follow new arrivals that Daiwa USA is now bringing in a higher end 1003 size ultra light reel to the USA. The Luvias 1003 is a shallow spool model that is amazing as a ultra light lure reel for ...

Re: The new review: Major Craft Corkish CKS 652L
Very nice write up. The Corkish is no longer made....but nice rod. They can still be found though. I have tried the low...medium, and high end of the Major Craft rods. If you get to that high end you just don't want to go back. That is the problem when one buys their first high end JDM rod...the add...
