Nice grab 😁 I made an offer below asking and to my surprise they said cool Going to try and make an sv light out of a Steez full size At least in my head. Nice! I haven't had that happen ye...

Re: Ned Rig CASTING only

What are you casting your NedRig with ( setup) and how light are you going? What line size are you using to nedRig with casting equipment or are you using braid? My idea was to use a pixy Airy red Spool in a pixy variant to nedRig with but that spool doesn't lend itself to such light techniques I h...

Re: J-Dream spool?

If you're up for some tinkering, check out this thread: http://www.tackletour.net/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=77657&hilit=J+Dream+SV#p621373 I did this SV conversion to both of my J-Dream spools and notice a big difference in how they bomb baits. They're closer to an HLC in performance than their stock for...

Re: A list of great spool swaps

Copy that. I thought that the magnets might be different with the ASC, being it's tuned for light baits and stream fishing. Only one way to find out. I'm pretty sure it's just the ASC spool that's been tuned and not the magnets. I never tried that spool in a Pixy though so I can't be completely cer...

Re: A list of great spool swaps

Recently picked up an PX68 Finesse spool, along with some 33-31 spacers. I'd like to ask which reels people have used this spool in, and what it really shines in. Obviously I can use most every Alphas, and all Pixys. I'm strongly considering the Alphas Air Stream Custom, but not sure how this spool...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

You could drill out the rivets and pick up a pair of the replacement knob shafts. I've done that on a couple of handles. Be sure to center punch the rivet really well. A drill press makes life a lot easier :big grin:

Which AMO spool is it that you're thinking of letting go...?

Re: Which Reel, PX68 Finesse Spool

To the extent of my knowledge, Alphas and Pixy magnets are the same. The only ones that are different, stronger in this case, are those in the Zonda line. I'm not sure about the Lauda though. The biggest difference you'll notice running that spool in a Pixy versus an Alphas is how well the reel bala...

Re: Spool inductor spring/ cool spool for sv103

At the risk of sounding exceptionally cheap and borderline not-TT worthy, the spring from a pen can actually be a great swap. And a hell of a lot cheaper than a complete spool...

Pics comparing the cheap "stream angler" Daiwa style carbon handle to a Daiwa carbon handle. It is more crude but looks good enough and are very cheap at less than $20. Even has milled sides and leading edge.

How does it cast vs the Alphas 70 CT SV?

And does it palm significantly smaller than the new Zillion SV TW? I noticed they are the same weight.
I'll have an answer for you in a few weeks or so. I have one of each and have been really curious myself.
