Re: Quality reel for frogging

I am planning to get the new Antares DC MD when it is available in left (sold my 2016 Antares DC for it). That might be another option.

For now the Coastal will do though.

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

Had the chance to briefly test the 903 today and was able to compare to my Z-Bone 7'3 HXF and Orochi Spinnerbait Special. In short: I am not impressed. Craftmanship on the rod is below the Orochi, which costs less than a third. Sensitivity was below Zbone AND Orochi. I am sure people will disagree. ...

Noisy new Chronarch MGL - normal?

Hi all, received my reel this morning and put it out the box and directly noticed some very distinct grinding noise (sounds a bit like a cobra that hisses). I have not noticed this with any other reel that I have (including Metanium MGL). I am wondering if this sound comes from the brass gears. To m...

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

Would like to use the 903 also for lipless cranks. Would 1 oz over power the rod?

Re: Quality reel for frogging

Why under 7oz? Frog rods are usually pretty heavy/stout, a lightweight reel might feel a bit out of place/unbalanced. My personal preference is a J Dream 7.9 (7.5 ounces I think). Deps DR-100zx is the only thing I can think of that might best it. The reason for a lighter reel is that 'walking the d...

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

I am considering getting one Conquest with some bonus that I received.

I already have a ZBONE 7'3 Heavy, XF and a Helium 3 7' Heavy XFast.

I would be looking to get the Conquest as a ultimate - sensitive Jig rod for 3/8-1/2 oz Jigs. Considering the 903 right now.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Knobs from Steez SV TWS on Steez A

Hi all,

I am wondering if I could put the knobs from a Steez SV TWS on a Steez A? The knobs on the Steez A are a bit uncomfortable and I much prefer the ones from the Steez SV TWS.

Thanks

Re: Titan 10.5 vs Hobie PA12

Both are great kayaks. Great to know that you can't make a bad decision here. Just to give a nod in the other direction, I'd buy the Titan 10.5 over the PA 12. First, it is almost $1000 cheaper leaving you room to add a few really important after-market add-ons. The most important in my opinion wou...

Re: '18 Daiwa Ryoga

The video says to have 110 yards for 16# test line, but http://japantackle.com/special/reg0000239.html says only 12# 110 yards. What is itttt? Also wished the reel was a bit ligther (more like the 200 size Conquest)... It holds 110 yards of .330 line. The video calls that 16lb, Japantackle calls it...
