Re: How many rods?
I guess i am the exception here. I bring usually as many rods as somewhat make sense in my PA14.
Minimum is 7 maximum is 11. I modified the Hobie H crate to carry 10 rods. The eleventh is in my hands

Re: Braid and AGS
Same here. I have been using my blue Steez AGS 7'9 XH for flipping and punching with 80lb braid and I have not had a problem with the guides yet.
Cheers!

Re: Japan Lure Shop
I have ordered three reels from digitaka this month. All came within a week.
Last order went out on Sunday night and got to me on the Thursday. Many US shops take longer than that!

Re: Short Frog Rod (for the kayak)
I was looking for a short frog rod a year or two ago and found a lot of options. The first place I looked were snakehead rods from SE Asia. There are a lot of short, powerful rods in the snakehead world and I ordered a cheap one from aliex. It was more or less what I was looking for, but it had a v...

Re: Short Frog Rod (for the kayak)
Thanks for the info. Without sounding too spoiled, but honestly it has been a while since i considered a $80 rod ;-) I know practicality is essentially a lost art here on TT, but I've become exactly that in the last couple years. I've found that I dont need to spend $300+ on a moving bait rod. That...

Re: Short Frog Rod (for the kayak)
The newest Fuego rod series has a 6'9" heavy rod that should fit the bill without breaking the bank. The rear grip is shorter, as well, so it should do well walking a frog from the yak. I've held one and it is pretty powerful, too. THanks for the suggestion! Do you happen to have a compare of the F...

Short Frog Rod (for the kayak)
Hi guys, though it will be quite a while till the frog bite (even here in Cali) will turn on again, I am considering taking advantage of the BF sales and get me a frog rod that I can use in the kayak when the longer rod, Steez XBD, is just too long to comfortably walk the frog and get it into the ti...

Re: 2021 steez ags rods
AGS guides are usually very sturdy. I use some AGS rods for my bank fishing activities where I go through the thickest brush.
For your river runs I would recommend getting one of the neopren rodsacks and put them in when it gets rougher.

Re: Any reviews on the 2021 Shimano Conquest vs the 19 Conquest DC?
Had some time with my 2021 CC 101HG (on a NRX+ 893c, 14lb sunline sniper camo). First impressions: this thing is tiny. Like really tiny. I was a bit worried first that this reel would be too fragile. I was wrong. The reel is really smooth, maybe a tiny bit smoother even than my Antares 70. Its a di...

Re: 2021 Antares DC vs 2021 CC HG vs SLP Ryoga for Chatterbaits/Spinnerbaits
Went out with the 2021 Antares DC XG yesterday and fished everything from a 3/8oz spinnerbait (with trailer) to a 3/4oz underspin and a 3/4 oz chatterbait. The pros: * smoothest DC reel I have experienced so far. I hope it stays that way! ;-) * much improved tolerances. Little to no play in handle a...
