Re: Show off your BFS Casting Reels
Amazing combo right there. I have the exact same one, more or less. Thanks man, i love your two mb bfs combos. Ill be playing with some new spools soon. Debating the honeycomb or cosugi works... Cheers! How do you find those thin handle knobs? I've always wanted to try them. Not sure if they would ...

Recently purchased a spool from Ryan.
Great bloke to deal with. Excellent communication. Wouldn't hesitate to buy something else from him again.

Re: Steez SV w/ Megabass IS BFS Spool HH BFS Bearing
I can't comment on a Steez with the BF spool, but I have two Zonda Hedgehogs with BF spools. Both with HH Air BFS bearings. I have them on a Destroyer X7 Super Criffhanger and a Destroyer X7 Shading-X. I can easily cast down to 4g (1/8oz plus a little bit) all day long, with no backlashes. I usually...

Re: Just how far can an Alphas be tuned?
what spool are you going with ? I do love my two Zonda Hedgehogs. I find that with 8lb flouro on the MB BF spool, I can send Baby Griffons or Baby PopXs screaming into structure. Even with decent headwind. So maybe I'll try and replicate the feel of that. FYI the Zonda has a stronger magnet setup t...

Re: Just how far can an Alphas be tuned?
I have decided to try my hand at tuning some reels other than the usual swap out of spools and bearings. I have an old Alphas 103 that could use some new paint and love. My list of things to work on are: Carbontex drag upgrade (wet) Lap flat and polish drag washers WEAKENS DRAG Polish pinion end wh...

Re: 2016 Zillion 1016SV Custom
Power Pro comes in Vermillion Red. I have it in 50lb as backing on a #9 fly outfit. As backing it stays reddish, but on line that regularly sees water and UV light it would lose its colour quite fast.saoulons wrote:Very nice indeed! Now need to find some red braid

Very nice mate! Looks great.
How much of an improvement were the worm drive bearings? I'm considering upgrading all of my reels if the smoothness is noticeable.

Re: New Alphas Air winding engangement noise
Excellent! Thanks so much for your reply.
I did want to eventually put a bearing in the worm drive, so it's a good excuse to strip it down early.
