I started with trout rods but now only own a SUL for .5 gram range. For me I found I can cast 1 gram and up easier on a bass taper bfs rod. I think most bass taper bfs rods will work just fine. They're much different than the trout taper bfs rods. My L rated rods can throw 1 gram lures at trout but I've also landed DD bass on them just fine as well.

I haven't tried their older lines yet but I have some Aces/Goldenwings and I rarely fish anything else. While Fenwicks aren't the fanciest of rods they're very clean with unmatched performance.

I agree, most of my Aldebaran BFS look perfect still but the one I used with sun gloves the paint is beat to crap. It's a little frustrating not being able to wear gloves with them.
