Re: kayak fishing pfd
I've been using my Sospender inflatable that I use on my boat. Whatever model you choose make sure you wear it, the stats for people hurt in kayaks/canoes is very high.
Have fun.

Nice job, really like the transducer holder! I have mine on a ram mount and it hangs along side, it works well but yours is much cooler.

Re: best rods for fishing from a yak or canoe due to length!
I carry rods from 6' to 8' in my pro angler and don't have any problems that a net won't help. Try loosening your drag.
Good luck.

Sorry this might be a little late, but if you like fiberglas crankin rods you will really really like the Seekers.

Re: lightest guide setup for spinning
For years I always started with a size 20 guide, this year with the new K guides I'm starting with a size 16 and going from there. No problems, these new Fuji guides are the nicest guides I've ever used. Read the info on anglers workshop website and try it.

Re: swimbait rod
Just my opinon- unless you can get that Doybns rod to measure it's very hard to compare it. Ask him what he likes about that rod and then find a blank that will work. I find a lot of customers say they want this or that and they don't have any idea what "this or that" really is lol. Rainshadow SW bl...

Re: Seeker blanks
Mike is right it will handle them. You can now get the Fuji ECSM seats in 17 size while I haven't tried one it might fit, at least that what I bought it for.

Re: Best Baitcaster around 60 dollars
How about a used Curado off eBay? I haven't checked prices in a while but they should be around $60. For that price the body may be scarred but all the parts are available and reasonably priced. You also have a choice of gear ratio's if you want. Good luck.

Re: Carbon Fiber
Thanks for the nice words! The rod sure does look pretty in the sun. I got a 201 Calais for the line capacity, it's a little heavier than I like but it sure is smooooooth.
Gameover yes I built the rod, let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks again.

Carbon Fiber
St. Croix 4C711HMF cut down to 7'6", hacked up fuji soft touch reel seat, batson grips with added chrome trim rings. should be the nuts for a one peice c-rig rod. Adding a Calais to top it off.
Thank for looking.

Frog Rod
Frog rod for myself I finished a while ago. Old Shikari blank and reel painted with Chameleon color changing paint, custom made Fuji reel seat and "Kermit" crossbones inlay. It looks really sharp in the sun.

Re: Losing expensive lures
i'm not a fan of the luresavers, I had about a 3lbs smallie pull the hook off a crankbait. Poor guy kept jumping, took me about 3 casts to figure out that I only had one hook left on my bait.

Re: Opinions on Rogue Rods or Graphite USA?
The GUSA blanks I've built on are very nice, not quite GLX or LE's, definitely on par with the SHX IMHO, the 703DHX is a great blank. The blank weights I had were pretty close, some were even less than advertised. That being said try getting one. GUSA says they are making blanks and I know some peop...
