I like the Jewel heavy cover finesse football head jig (1/2oz) with a paca chunk trailer.

Re: Line - Technique Specific?
I use flourocarbon for everything except topwater (braid or mono) and saltwater fishing (braid with a flourocarbon leader). I love it. It has incredible feel, good abrasion resistance, virtually disappears underwater , and has a longer spool life than most lines (other than braid) since it doesn't a...

Re: Metanium MG vs. Antares AR
I use top brass brass-n-glass bullet weights. You can pick them up a tacklewarehouse. I like the black 1/4 oz size for sweet beavers and the 1/8 oz size with a 2/0 hook for smallie beavers. The smallie set up goes real well with a conquest 50, 10lb test XPS flouro on a 6'8" MXF St. Croix Legend Elit...

Re: why an upgraded pixie and not a steez?
Thor and Koyak hit on it. The steez can't compete with the pixy in casting light baits.

Re: Metanium MG vs. Antares AR
Yes, I caught it on a 1/4 oz black brass and glass with a black and blue beaver. This bait has worn them out for me on my home lakes. I guess the bass aren't use to seeing it and I think the brass and glass makes a difference. The met mg is sweet. I did have my AR set up a little tighter for my son ...

Re: Metanium MG vs. Antares AR
I might have to take back what I said in my earlier post. My son and I were in a big bass (1 fish wins) tournament tonight and we both wanted to use our go to bait (brass and glass sweet beaver). I rigged up 2 beaver set ups- the first was a met mg. on a st croix legend elite 6'6MH and the second wa...

Re: Sufix Performance Braid Question
Mattman wrote: Its fully worn in so you can go ahead and prepare yourself for a few years of line that handles like a dream. I agree. One of my saltwater set ups has had the same 30lb powerpro on for 3 years now. As long as you don't have any backlashes bad enough to have to cut the line, braid is m...

A 6'6" medium Kistler LTX is another good pixy rod.

Re: Help with Twinpower or Stella for jig rod
I have both twinpowers and stella in the 2000 series. Both are very nice. The stella is a nicer reel, but I personally can't tell as much of a difference between higher end spinning reels like I can between baitcasters. Now is a good time to buy the older model stella since the new 07 version just c...

I like to burn lipless baits. I would go with the faster ratio.

Re: XPS Fluorocarbon
I've heard of the palomar knot issue with flourocarbon but have never had a problem myself. I use the palomar knot all the time with XPS flourocarbon. Never had any breakoff problems.
