Not according to the tackletour flourocarbon shootout. XPS beat P line Flouro in every category. I love the stuff.it is an excellent line but compared to our favorite pline flouro it just doesn't compare in strength

Re: quality reel to "horse" em in.
I would say that a Calais 200 series in either the reg 6.2:1 or 5.0:1 would be tops, followed by the upcoming Daiwa Zillion CC. You may want to look into ordering a deeper spool for the Calais as well if you go w/the 5.0:1 or you can just go with the CL 200ASV model if 6.2:1 is okay. The 200 series...

Not sure, but I have the same problem. Mine is reading about 10 degrees to cold. I havn't had a chance to check the manuel to see if I can calibrate.

Very nice. The short top grip was my only complaint on the original ltx.

Re: Kistler Rods: Guides and Reel Seats
How recent was this? I know that they have recently went to the "deep pressed" guides and the flanged tip to prevent knockouts. Just wondering if this happened to one of the new models or if it was the older design that was prone to knockouts I believe they were both 05 model LTA's. I haven't had i...

Re: Loomis Guys..need some advice
You might want to take a look at the BCR 893. It seems to have a little more ass (this would help you with C-rigs, frogs, and swimbaits) than my 803 and since you are fishing from shore the extra length would be nice for distance. I actually bought it with finesse C-riggin in mind. If your fishing p...

Re: Kistler Rods: Guides and Reel Seats
I have had 2 LTA's were the insert popped out of the guide. Easy to fix, but this has never happened on my fuji guides.

Re: Giving Copoly line another shot (sigh)
If you want zero or near zero stretch you are going to have to go with braid. I'm not aware of any line other than braid that has that quality. I used to use McCoy's Mean Green copolymer before I made the switch almost exclusively to flourocarbon. It is a decent line.

One of my favorite vendors. Awesome to deal with and you know if they have it in stock before you put it in the cart and pay.

Re: Best reel for flippin'?
Not sure about flipping, but for pitching I love my DC7. You get effortless distance because the computer brake will not engage at the lower speeds. I usually turn off my brakes on other reels when pitching, but then forget to turn them back on for regular casting and end up with a some nasty backla...

Welcome. That would be a good combo for the techniques you mentioned. You may also want to take a look at the Kistler LTA 6'9" APC and Loomis MBR 783C.

Re: Metanium MG vs. Antares AR
IMO, it is worth the increase in price. It is smoother due to the extra bearings and has better gearing (HEG).Thanks for the info. How much better is the Met. Mg compared to the Chronarch Mg?
