Re: TD Zillion vs Curado I: better workhorse reel
Let me start by saying I'm a Shimano guy. I love the palmability of the Shimano reels, and I love the new SVS infinity breaking system. I wouldn't hesitate to grab a Curado for the techniques you described. However, the original Zillion (haven't handled the new t-wing variant) is a boss, probably th...

Re: What is your ideal balance point on a rod?
I'd have to agree, it depends on the technique for the rod. For tip down presentations, I like it an inch or two before the foregrip, but for tip up, it has to be as close to the center of the reel as possible.

Re: Anybody know anything about what G. Loomis is teasing?
It seems to me that Shimano/Loomis is really bringing the heat this year, with the E6X and Zodias both coming out at such a great price point.

Re: Spinning reel noise help.
If the spool is making contact on the downstroke, the solution may be as simple as adding a shim under the spool. If I'm not mistaken, most reels will come with a plastic shim or two in the box. If you don't have these shims, I believe the part number is RD 8068 for the stella 2500 FD, not sure how ...

Re: Ish/Poche altercation
What a shame. After reading both of the statements on wired2fish, it seems calling the authorities was suggested by some tournament personnel. I met Keith this past November hunting in Alabama with my brother near Union Springs, and he's a nice guy. It's disappointing to see this being the reason hi...

Happens to the best of us, buddy. It's always a learning experience, and the good thing is, you'll probably never make the same mistake again.Ub2m4 wrote: got it. Yoke for pinion gear upside down! Hope nobody else this foolish.

Re: Chronarch 50 mg
The easiest way to do it would be to order factory replacements from Shimano. That way you know you have the right size. https://fishshop.shimano.com/vip/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441848301&SKU%3C%3Esku_id=1689949372103602 Bearings other than the spool bearings usually don't add m...

Re: Metanium XT
Accessing that bearing should be as easy as unscrewing the spool tension knob and removing the small clip holding it in place (do it in a large ziploc so the clip doesnt go flying). The Met XT is the JDM version of the Chronarch B, so the Chronarch B schematic will be identical to the Met's: https:/...
