The rod has a lot to do with loading the cast with the BFS Trout rods, just my experience with the BST I received.

Me thinks Alphahawk should acquire* one, review on Youtube. And become a legend....
* at that price, you don't 'buy' a rod, you 'acquire' a rod.

Re: Alphas air stream custom
For anyone wanting to order the Neoprene case from Daiwa it is the Size S case I reached out to Japan Tackle for confirmation. I don't know if the bait reel covers come in different sizes. Are you sure you're not looking at the spinning reel cover? It was the bait covers they come in a S, M, and L ...

Re: Smith Be Sticky Trout
Got a bit of time on the water with the new BFS Trout setup. Beyond impressed with how accurate and smooth it is, no major birds nests and the rod is a blast. Smith Be Sticky Trout BST-EXS47UL/C3: This rod is a treat, plenty of backbone but gets an exciting bend when you hook up. Packs super small a...

Re: Alphas air stream custom
Played just a bit and these reels are super smooth, now would they benefit from super tuning if possible? Haven’t dug into one to see what could be upgraded or smoothed out.

The 2500 series has a bunch of upgrades you can do, won’t say cheap but they are availableWpeart7 wrote:Does anyone make BFS spools or even lighter than stock spools for Ambassadeurs? That plus some ABEC 7 bearings seem like a good way to get BFS-ish reel on the cheap.

Re: Snaps for UL fishing
I’ll give some thoughts in a couple weeks as I ordered some Cultiva P-20 size 000 Welded Snaps to try on the BFS setups, not sure I need the swivel with the BFS setup.

Re: Ultralight casting goals...
Amazing casting skills but at 1/4 oz lure weight it falls outside my definition of UL. Are 1/4 oz lures actually practical for that kind of pocket water? Honest question. Trying to learn. Actually quite productive in small pocket water I’ll fish up to 6.5g with great results. Really triggers the ac...

Re: Snaps for UL fishing
Fingernails or I have used my Hemos on really cold days where the fingers don’t work as well as I want. I think I just need better hemostats then, mine are all crappy ones I picked up at various fleamarkets. I use my BFS gear for stocked trout a few times a year and they seem incredibly lure-sensit...
