Re: Lateral movement of driveshaft (Zillion/ZDV) ???

If Drive shaft retainer is fixed properly, imho this play is determined only by correspondence of thickness of Drive shaft retainer and width of circular slot on the Drive shaft. Certainly, it is possible there something to add... But from what side? My opinion, as the reel works normally, give it t...

Re: Down with "poodle grips" !

For two arms casting to use continuous reargrip or split reargrip it is not so important for castability of the system "man + rod". But for the specific one hand casting with short and light rod the moment of inertia of rod around the hand as the point of rotation is a very significant factor. I.e. ...

Re: Lateral movement of driveshaft (Zillion/ZDV) ???

Hi Bro! All Daiwa's, which one I kept in hand, have a rather appreciable play of the Drive shaft. However actually it is approximately 0.2-0.3 millimeters, though on sensations seems much more. This game is easy for metering by a calliper (between the window, in which one the Line guide is gone, and...

Re: Daiwa samurai braided line – short review

"More round", "less round". We measure the deviations of Moon orbit in negligible parts of percent, and properties of bootlace we get to know on sensations, votings only. It seems we live together in XXI and XI. However, if precisely to know technical parameters of items, what then to discuss on for...

Re: Line diameter on baitcasters

A spool holds less quantity of thick line and though each layer of a line is more weighty (a step of cross winding is the same), the number of layers is less. I have tested the weights of identical mono lines (i.e. - of really round one) of different diameters, spooled up to a normal level. The diff...

Re: The samples of Superlines are needed

Doug,

Here are listed the lines, which one were tested by mr Olander (Sport Fishing Mag. 2006 #8). Sense in the some extension of his work.
I.e. addition of samples of other lines cordially is welcomed and seems useful, but does not substitute necessity to get a quorum from listed.

Thanks!
