Re: Rod suggestions
Thanks for the reply Smead. I was looking at the 6' and 6'6" 2 piece avids and am considering them even more now. I totally understand what you mean about super lines. I have 15 and 20lb braid with 6lb leader on my light rig and it actually landed my personal best. Definitely didn't winch her in. Be...

Re: Rod suggestions
I was waiting for you to reply, jersey. Lol I read your thread about the tragic accident and im sorry for your loss. I kinda want to avoid the noodle rods at this time. Maybe later down the road I but for now I would like some reassurance knowing I can bring in a 3lb fish without tiring us both out....

Re: Rod suggestions
I can't remember reading anything negative about the avids. Right now I'm stuck between those and the Fenwick river runner. With the RR, I would have extra cash for tackle. Can anyone say if the avid is worth the extra $60?

Rod suggestions
I'm looking for some rod suggestions with a budget of $150-170. Prefer a soft tip with some backbone. Needs to be a 2 piece too.
So far I'm leaning towards avids.

Re: Casting flies
Thanks guys. I've read about adding weight to the line. Good to see it produces!
I'll look into those clousers, Thor.

Casting flies
Im interested in seeing if anyone is casting flies with spinning tackle. I know there is the float and fly technique but does anyone make a weighted fly that can be cast without a bubble? The only one that keeps coming up for me is Spro's Phat Fly. Even though it was designed with the float and fly ...

Re: St Croix. ..umm, yeah..
Yuck.
I hate the white on my stradic but it's such a nice reel, I got over it. Not sure I could get over that much white on a rod.

Re: Presso rod reviews?
Though I'm not totally against whippy rods, I'd like something with at least some backbone. My goal for this rod is something fun and light to fish with when nothing else is bitting. Seems like the procyon may be what I'm looking for.
It was between this and the Croix premier 6' 2 piece.

Re: Presso rod reviews?
I seen you mention those procyon rods often. I found a 6' 2 piece for 60 bucks and it's specs are about what im looking for. They also have a 5 year warranty. I've seen no mention of one with the presso.

Thanks I'll check those out.
Didn't realize I butchered my post until I reread it just now. Still getting used to this new swype keyboard for my phone.

Favorite jigs?
What's everyones favorite jigs? Bucktail or for plastics. I would rather buy bulk if someone if I can find some with quality hooks. Also, what size hook does everyone prefer for 2" baits?
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Re: Presso rod reviews?
Awesome, thanks.
Ive read through the few threads ive found and everyone posted similar thoughts to yours. Kinda wondering how it compares to other rods around its price point.

Re: Spinning reel suggestions
Normally i wouldnt let color effect my purchase too much, but ill pass on that one. Ive narrowed it down to the Saros 2500 or the Revo SX 20. I love my 1000f Saros and these new models are supposed to be better. But i also like the looks of the Abu and if its anything like the older reels ive had, i...
