Re: Whats your favourite Baitcaster (within last 4 years)
Core50MG7...These reels have just been excellent for me the last several years. They cast and pitch great, are super smooth, and are really light and feel great. For a budget reel, I'd say the Lews reels have impressed me the most! I have 2 Tourney Pros and they have performed really well. I've been...

Re: Help me pick a reel!
Nice choices on the HSTA reels..I had one of those for a long time and it was a great reel for the money for sure.. I feel like a REVO or Zillion would overlap with the duties of your HSTAs...I think the Chronarch E series is your best bet at that price point, and based on what you already own. The ...

Re: 7.1:1 or 7.9:1 for jigs & soft plastics?
Haha, 50/50 on the vote(as of this posting), I'm sure that's helping you out with your decision 8-) I voted 7.9:1, but must add that I voted this way assuming you're going to be using the reel predominantly for just soft plastics and jigs. For these applications, cranking power really doesn't mean m...

Re: Guys do the Lew's reels stack up to the big two Shim/Dai
Guys with experience fishing the higher end of Shimano Chronarchs and above and Zillions and above in Daiwa's. I have all core's, chronarchs, and am debating either a Zillion or a Lew's Speed Spool. Will I be dissapointed? Or can the Lew's really hold it's own? I think the Lew's is a really safe be...

Re: Hawgtech Handle on Core
Does it take them a while to respond to emails/inquiries? I emailed them yesterday morning with some questions and haven't heard back yet. Just wondering. I emailed -> support@hawgtech.com. - do y'all know if the stock knobs from a Scorpion 1000xt and core50 will fit this handle if ordered without t...

Toledo Bend Fish 3/8/12-3/11/12
Didn't tear em up but caught some good ones, had one 6 lbs 5 oz, there's a few pics of her below, and the setup I used to catch her. It's one of my value setups but I love the heck out of it! It's a 7' H Falcon Bucoo paired with a 7.1:1 Lew's Tourney Pro and a 1/2 oz Stanley double willow spinnerbai...

Re: Jerkbait help, need one to get started..
Thanks for all the help. I went with the Vision 110, Pointer 78, and deep Xrap. I'm taking a 4-day trip to Toledo Bend this coming week and I plan on fishing these quite a bit. I'll report back with my results. Can't wait!

Re: Jerkbait help, need one to get started..
You'll need at least 3, you'll want a smaller profile bait like a Pointer 78, then a vision 110, and an X-Rap deep diver. The reason for the deep diver being an x-rap inseadt of a pointer or staysee is the water color, fairly clear but not gin clear, that water is perfect for the x-rap as even the ...

Jerkbait help, need one to get started..
So I've never really fished a a jerkbait before and I'm taking a trip up to Toledo Bend next week for 4 days and I plan on trying it there. I know people catch them on jerkbaits there and the water is fairly clear, so it should work. Looking for some advice on what jerkbait I should go with to give ...

20% off? Rebate? Where?Lagvpi wrote:The rebate did it for me...I bought one.
Felt a LOT smoother than the Curado G6 and it SEEMS a little tighter than my Curado E's.
I wish it was all white instead of the black accent.
I think I need a new Crucial for it...
