Re: 6.3:1

I get what you're saying about the gearing material. I've never heard about any problems with steez gearing, but Daiwa did upgrade the alloy in the newest iteration. Was that to address legitimate concerns? I doubt it. Probably just marketing, but who knows? That's why I'd rather get a Zillion sv or...

Re: 6.3:1

I am liking the 6.3 zillion sv for t rigs. I wasn't sure I would since I'm so used to 7's and 8's now, but I tend to drag the bait around with reel and it keeps me from working it too fast. Since I never have that much slack in the line, hook sets aren't the issue I thought they'd be. I also like it...

Once you have 12 different rods for 12 different purposes you'll get it.

Re: Daiwa Aegis - Drag not clicking

I've never seen this, but maybe it isn't designed to in order to make it as smooth as possible. Is the inside of the spool notched all the way around? If it is you're missing a clicker spring. I did have one daiwa reel that was missing a part from the factory, so I know it's possible.

Re: Spinnerbait guys: different blade configurations

I just ordered a Schmidterbait. I couldn't fight back the curiosity any longer. So if any of you have been wondering about em I'll let you know next weekend. I also got one of those LC skeet crazy Colorado (Willow/Colorado×2) which should be super effective around here, especially after a lot of rain.

Re: Spinnerbait guys: different blade configurations

That Schimdterbait looks pretty freakin' sweet with its Marabou and that odd Colorado/tiny Indiana blade combo.

My favorite right now are Terminator and War Eagle Trokar tandems. I like to feel the thump of that Colorado working.

Re: Need a frogging only reel...

I'd say a Zillion TWS, too, but I'd go with the 7.3. I feel like the 9.1 is great for flipping and pitching, but if you can't pull the fish out using the rod and are having to winch it out with the reel you'll burn those gears up, too. That goes for about any reel, but the 7.3 will outlast about an...

Molix Lover Spinnerbait

I was skeptical, but I got one anyway since it's been spinnerbait weather lately. I can't seem to keep the center blade turning. Half the time it gets sort of wrapped around the arm and just sits there, causing the bait to run off to the side. I think it would be a killer bait if it worked right. Di...

Re: Daiwa Red/Orange Oil...TD-Z models

I don't know about a tdz, but a td luna comes with a ckear bottle of red oil with some japanese writing and a caution symbol and that's in a clear plastic ziploc baggie.

Re: Daiwa Deep Cranking Reel

If you mean og zillion, yes. If you mean tws, no, those gears are bigger.
