Re: BB's knock out punch

I'll tell you this. I have spoke with Jun through e-mail in the past and he is an excellent person to deal with. He always returns my e-mails within a day or two, but I have to say this about Brooklyn Bill: I ordered a set of cork knobs from him late last night along with a bearing set. Since the be...

Re: Depth Locator spinning reel

It's probably an OK reel for it's intended purpose, crappie fishing. Hence the name "slab seeker", but other than that...

Re: A nice spinning reel...

Bassmaster. Either way you go with the KIX or the Energy you'll be happy. I have an Energy PTi 40 that I use for pike. Although I'm a Daiwa man I also know a good deal on a good reel when I see one and there's a new Shimano Twinpowers 2500 on ebay for $209.00 right now that might be worth looking at...

Re: A nice spinning reel...

As Skeeter said. On the Daiwa side look into the KIX or the Luvias or even the SOL or Fuego. I have a KIX and it's an outstanding reel. It uses the Real four system, same as the Certate, but of course with a few miner differences. If you want an excellent reel and have money left over for tac...

Re: What budget spinning reel to use?

Good choice on the prodigy. I have a Capricorn which is the same as the prodigy with less bearings and it's an excellent budget reel.

Re: Which rod would YOU choose?

I have one of the new 2006 Compre in a 6' 6" MH paired with a Quantum energy PTi 40 that I use for northern pike. I love this rod for this application. It's light, strong, casts well, and holds up to the weight of the pike. It's rated as having a fast tip, but it seems more moderate to me which is g...

Re: What budget spinning reel to use?

Brunswick. I'm a Daiwa man myself, although I have a couple Shimano and Quantum reels that I love. The new Regal XI is an excellent reel. I bought one for my son and paired it with a Shimano Convergence rod. Seems to be a very nice combo for the money(sub $100). The Regal seems to be very durable an...
