Nice fish and combo! It's been a while since I have seen an ITO out in the wild.

Re: Scorpion DC vs SLX DC
My vote is for the 17 Scorpion. I have a couple still that are used regularly.

Re: Stand Up Backpack
I have an older model Shimano Blackmoon top load backpack that I use for the beach that stands upright. The newer models looks like it might be a little bigger though (holds an extra plano box). I also use this aluminum expandable rod holder/spike I found on amazon to keep my rod/reel from falling o...

Re: Major Craft Days 360
Been keeping an eye out for the 6'10" medium myself but haven't seen it in stock aside from what Barramaniac posted. I asked Digitaka also but no definite answer about when they'll have more. If I find one I'll report back.

Re: Stripping/Rebuilding a rod with a textured blank
Thanks Matt! That is kind of what I was thinking. I have an Nrx+ MBR844 that pretty often has the line getting caught on the hook keeper during a cast. Happens enough I was thinking to have it removed. Then I thought about having it rebuilt to balance it out better since I also find it pretty tip he...

Stripping/Rebuilding a rod with a textured blank
Hi Rod Experts!
Is it possible to strip a rod with a textured blank without ruining it?
I tried doing some research but couldn't really find anything, so if anyone has any thoughts on whether it can be done that would be awesome.
Thanks in advance!

My vote would be for the 843. Like you mentioned, a 2 power might not have enough oomph in certain situations.

Re: Bank fishing net
Hmm, that's what like a ~30 inch fish? It miiight work but it would be pushing it I think. Something bigger may be better since a fish that size would probably fill the entire net unfortunately.

Re: Bank fishing net
I don't know how big the fish you're pulling in or how well it will hold up to the salt but I have been using this Promar net for years now and its been great for me.

Re: Loomis NRX users: please help a guy out...
Check out this old video of Mark zona. Https://youtube.com/watch?v=kY6pj-BAuLA&si=EnSIkaIECMiOmarE It's funny that the guide wrap in the video is crap. They have some of the worst fit and finish. My buddy has a few and there are gaps in several wraps per rod. I recently started building and was sho...

Maybe it's one of the Synergy rods. Think I saw him talk about one of those before.

Lol. Interesting tech but didn’t Carrot Stix also do the organic fiber thing?

Re: How can I clean a soft touch reel seat gone sticky?
What you're feeling is a result of that soft touch coating breaking down. I discovered this myself on several older rods and other items with a similar finish. The rubber, or whatever is used, just deteriorates or something over time 😢 A method I've found that helps is to get some baking soda and a...
