Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa

Those yellow Type-R Tatulas have been out for a long time now (see eBay, Eastackle, 7 Seas Proshop, etc.)

Re: Premium Collapsible/Telescopic Rods?!

A couple of Youtube angling personalities vouch for the Daiwa B.B.B. I've never handled or owned one, but I've been wanting to get the 595TLFS for remote backcountry trout fishing. Discontinued JDM Daiwa telescopic Heartland models show up on Yahoo Japan's auction site occasionally, and look intrigu...

Daiwa, please bring back one-touch folding handles on your spinning reels, and everything will be good again.

Re: Spinning Reel Daiwa Ballistic LT made in Japan....

You'll likely find a Made in China sticker on the reel's foot when you receive your new LT. The reels from the 3 LT series (JDM Caldia, JDM Tatula, AUDM Sol) that I've handled so far all have that sticker.

Re: What have you lost while fishing?

I've lost myself a few times while going to certain Eastern Ontario back lakes; sometimes the access (including abandoned logging roads, as well as overgrown atv/snowmobile trails) is so maze-like I'll lose my bearings and spend up to a few hours trying to figure out where I am, exactly. https://i.p...

Have also been fishing the Ottawa River rapids in (you guessed it) Ottawa for ½-2 lb “gold trout” using the same lure combo.

Re: Anybody target the Green Trout ?

Yes, I’ve enjoyed catching some green trout (including this 3 pounder) from the Rideau Canal in Ottawa this summer using 1 ½ inch Berkley power nymphs on 1/16 oz VMC neon moon eye jig heads. Ultralight bassin’ is fun!

Re: It’s 2018, why are you buying reels from the past

Old Daiwa spinning reels had one-touch folding handles, which is great for the travelling angler, and the new Daiwas don't.

Re: Daiwa Goldcast III spincast (for kids)

I think that they're good, as far as spincasting reels go. All versions of the Goldcast have an audible (clicking) anti-reverse, but that sort of thing doesn't bother me.
