They lost me when they replaced torzites with cheap guides and acted like nothing happened.
Sounds like corporatism in action...sadly.

Hi... my reel is Steez A II TW 1000XHL Left Gear Ratio: 8.5:1. Can i change the gear to 1000L Left Gear Ratio: 6.3:1?
Yes, the Steez A2 6.3 gear set drops right in.
Haha...yeah, I should have realized that there is a 6.3:1 Steez A II model.

Re: 2024 Metanium DC

I'm always confused when people say that a reel isn't holding enough line. I get it with big line and big bait but what is being used for 3/8-1/2oz that you all are able to unspool the entire reel? I feel like I'm doing something wrong because I'm never even close. TEACH ME!!! I have a Daiwa ...

I think the Steez A HLC 6.3L gears would work.

Re: Are you using any Chinese manufactured reels?

I'm still using a made in China Daiwa Caldia 2000-sized spinning reel. Aside from a couple of the design features that I don't like (just personal preferences regarding the non-folding handle and the rotor design), the reel's held up well over the years. Totally different scenario here...Daiwa and ...

Re: Longer, high end, versatile rod suggestions?

Okuma X Series is worth a look and IMO is an upgrade from the Orochi XX and perhaps even the X10. There's a 7'3" med & MH and a 7'5" MH.

Just a heads up- the Gomexus drag stars won’t fit a 300 without machining the nut or the star itself.
Oh dang, thanks for the heads up.

Re: Daiwa Tatula 300 Question

Does anyone happen to know the proper size for the handle? My 300 just arrived and I can't figure out if its 7x4mm or 8x5mm? I see that some Tatula are 8x5mm but I don't know if that applies to all of them (and I don't have my calipers handy) Thanks simplest way to remember the rule of thumb, shima...

Re: All new steez sv tw

While I do like a nice higher end CF handle, I prefer 92-100 mm aluminum swept handles for most of my power fishing. Also, the current Zillion aluminum handles are actually very nice, especially the Zillion HD one.

Weighed my Glorious 7'4" XH (14-150g) and it came in at 146g with plastic wrap still on the handle. Great balance as well.
That's an impressive rod weight for the rated power.

Re: Finding a cracked guide ring

I had this happen to me one time on my imx pro rod. Turn out to be to much epoxy on one of the guides and the epoxy ran down to the rings thus causing it to rub on the epoxy and would cut my line. Took a knife and rubbed on it and the residue fell off. Another time was where a ring was not centered...
