Re: Keitech New Offerrings

As far as my understanding goes, only the new jigs are made of lead. Perhaps the global supply issues are to blame for this move from Tungsten to Lead for these new designs. But all of the JDM jigs that I used that were previously made of Tungsten are still being manufactured with Tungsten so the d...

Re: Nrx 893c vs Megabass P5 X-bites

Xbites - too soft for solid hook sets with more than an 1/8 oz weight. Superb balance and weight. Sensitive as any rod I’ve owned. Really? I've had no problem with hard hook sets in brush w/3/8 oz. jigs. I wouldn't put a 3/4 oz. jig on it in cover, but zero problems, imo up to 1/2 oz. in cover.

Re: Evergreen Super Stallion - How do you fish yours ?

Thank you, I was wanting to use braid/leader, but perhaps not, unless I use it for frogs with straight braid. I'm sure that braid/leader would be fine. Keep in mind that the guides are bigger than many of guides used today. I don't think that you'd have any issues with that line setup. I'm using he...

Re: Evergreen Super Stallion - How do you fish yours ?

My favorite rod of all time but i know that's not answering your question. Lol...yeah man, I get it that the SS lineup in all variants, will like be on the short list of all-time GOATS. So...what line types do you employ, and what techs do you use yours for? I have 22 lb. Sunline Defier on mine (w/...

Re: Expected shipping time

[/quote] I've always received my JDM rods from them within 48-72 hours after the shipping notice as they ship via FedEx Global Priority and their rod container care and packaging has been nothing short of fantastic! My experience as well. Easily the best packaged rods that I've received from a retai...

BTW the exchange rate is still pretty good right now.
Best it has been in about a few decades. Dollar strength vis-a-vi other currencies is great.

Re: Sleeper Gill

Similar to the dark sleeper, I catch some fish swimming it. I catch more working it like a jig.

Also skips well, to get it back in the cover.

Re: Heavier Senko Alternatives

Are you Texas rigging the Senko? or fishing it wacky? Both. Hard to fish it wrong and I've even had fish strike it when reeling it in. Deadsticking it like you mentioned also works for me. Based on the topic title, are you looking for a "heavier senko"? The Keitech Salty Stick (I think that it has ...

Re: Crankbait rods...Megabass vs G.Loomis...which would you pick?

Im thinking the z-crank elseil. Anyone think that’s a good or bad idea for 3/8-3/4? 1/2 or 3/4 oz on the Z-crank would be pushing it. For cranks in that size, you'd want the P5 Madbull. Z-crank Elseil is more for cranks up to 3/8 oz. Ok thanks! Do you have both of these rods? What do you use the ei...

Re: Must have topwaters

MB Pop-X. Best popper evar , imo. How do you fish the Pop-X? Are you popping it like a regular popper, walking it, or some combination of both? I’ve personally had much more success on the pop max so I wonder what I’m missing with the pop x. I have two and have thrown them sparingly but only ever c...

Re: JDM Shipping Change

I wish EMS would deliver to Australia again. When I do parts orders through PLAT its still DHL which is twice the price of EMS I would think that it will be an option soon--as EMS is delivering to the U.S. (or at least the USPS for last mile delivery) and this has occurred over the last month or tw...

Deps Buzzjet. I've caught more fish on this one than the jr. size. Fun to fish and sounds like a rusted out truck w/no brakes going down hill on gravel.

Whopper Plopper and LC Gunfish are "winners" too for me.

Re: JDM Shipping Change

Considering that Japan has enjoyed "Most Favored Nation" status with the US since 1854, I don't think there's much chance of any overly regressive importation laws being enacted under any trade scenario I can imagine. This is compounded by the current strong US dollar which is experiencing a histor...

Re: ARMS "SUPER LEGGERA"

Any feedback on performance of the rod? Which model? I have the ASL6904X. I fish with it occasionally. Regular action and it is for primarily for jerkbaits/topwater for me. It is an incredible rod and I love the carbon handle. My understanding is that the blanks are quite similar to the X7 series, ...
