Re: YEN Continues Dropping
It will continue to go down. As crazy as it sounds, they need inflation in their country.

Re: JDM Spinning Reel For My K2 Custom
Balance is key, but after last winter fishing Berryessa about 85' deep, spool size and speed is more important to me. A 2500 or even a 3000 would have helped me land more fish. I lost a few fish each trip just because I couldn't keep up with my 2000 Certate. Fish start shooting up and you really rev...

Re: Edge Rod review
I was finally able to get out and use my Edge 705 during a hot day (91 degree) and the handle was surprisingly okay to the touch. I too had that concern with it being in the Cali sun.

Re: What's your favorite craft beer??
Mnbasser, you hit the nail on the head with the breweries. I would add Knee Deep on that list. But if I had to have only one, it would be Russian River Pliny the Elder (Pliny the Younger is too exclusive).
Re: nrx 843 c
Just my 2 cent, I wouldn't use a rod at that sensitivity for top water. Just seems like a waste of money. But to answer your question, I wouldn't see why not if you are fishing minimal coverage.

Re: Too many Plastics Weigh You Down
My tackle bag weighs 50lbs. I wish I could go back in time and just buy what I actually use, such a waste of money. I only use 10% of it lol. Very impressive that you can use 10%. I used to bring everything also, but started scaling down and beginning to bring only the essentials. I bring a 3700 bo...

Re: japan lure shop legit?
Could be a good thing or a bad thing I opened this thread. They have really good deals on their reels. Especially the Certate 2510PE-H.

Re: absolute worst reel you ever owned
Okuma Helios. Won it, so I owned it. No attention to details. The seams on on molded parted were deburred, such as the line guide. The gears were rough and not what a $200 reel should feel like. In addition, I had an old Okuma spinning reel from the late 90s. Forgot the model, but that thing adverti...

Re: Z-Man at it again, no USA Megabass Wild Header
Either way, one look at the Wild Header and you can see that the blade is too close. It looks like a well-made bait, but the color choices I saw look pretty limited and the price is a little high. You should just buy them from Japan when they are available. I thought the price was actually reasonab...

Re: KVD 8.0 Magnum Squarebill
I'm looking forward to it. It's essentially a small diving swimbait size lure. I could see it doing damage in the CA Delta during high tides.

Re: Zillion 50th Anniversary vs. Zillion Type R Drag?
I have the 50th with carbontex and it still doesn't lock down. But it is smooth as heck. I remember this topic being brought up, might have to do a search.

Re: New Zillion Rods
Thanks Ty. The Tatula rods are pretty good for the money and they too are on a SVF blank. Maybe not the high end SVF but even the high end Steez SVF is nothing to talk about so it really doesn't even matter. I like Daiwa's rod actions but their price and sensitivity is way off. Agreed. I have been ...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!
Another one in the dirt. A little dirt on the fish is a lot better than the way I see most Elites treating fish. Flipping them into the boat and letting them bounce around, rides in the livewell, weighing in bins, etc is all rough on a fish. Impact is far worse than a bit of dirt. http://i1310.phot...

Re: Anybody else watching the World Cup?
I'm a soccer fan and have a great appreciation for the game. They are essentially taking the least coordinated part of the body to use. It is the anticipation of a goal that keeps me glued. U.S. have to do it tonight to get top seed. No draw please. As for flopping, I think it is great to watch. Not...
