Re: Round Reel Refinement - The JDM Daiwa Millionaire CT SV70

Every once in a while I go to TW website, open up the Shimano casting reels, and just drool over the 50. At 7.5 oz, I could easily fish it all day. It looks like a finely engineered machine. My birthday's coming up in August (hint, hint). You need a Monoblock in you life. My Racing Milano is under ...

Re: A Message to Our Readers - Let's Tackle This Together

It is times like this where, the ability to read on new and through old reviews and articles on equipment helps to brighten ones day. I certainly have enjoyed this site and the connections that I have made with other people have helped me grow in a sport I've loved since I was a child. Thank you gu...

Re: Taking Aim at the Ubiquitous Stick Bait, Missile Bait's New The 48 Worm

That combo should handle The 48 unweighted no problem. I feel for ya with the frozen water :( Sweet! Thanks buddy. This has been an odd Winter here...very warm for these parts. There really hasn't been safe ice the vast majority of the season. There's not enough ice to walk on, but the lakes are st...

Re: Taking Aim at the Ubiquitous Stick Bait, Missile Bait's New The 48 Worm

It's been over 2 years dude, I can't remember  ... my initial reaction is yes, of course, but it also depends on what you consider "conventional" casting gear. Easiest way to find out to just buy a pack. ;)   Understood...just wanted to see if board members would chim...

Re: Taking Aim at the Ubiquitous Stick Bait, Missile Bait's New The 48 Worm

Bumping this one back up.

I'm interested in this bait...thinking weightless T-rigged. Is this worm heavy enough to cast, in this manner, with conventional casting gear?

Re: They Had Me At the Button : AFTCO's Tactical Fishing Shorts

I concur on all fronts...love them, and definitely wish there were at least a few solid color options. I do also wish more of their shorts had zippers on the back pockets, as opposed to Velcro.

I'm pretty stoked to check out AFTCO's new fluoro leader material. First thing that popped into my mind was leaders for tip-ups on the ice. 8-)

I would not put my thumb in that mouth!
No Sir! Lol.

As Smalleyez said, braid is really popular amongst walleye folks...a ton of bites will be on the bottom, as opposed to on the drop, so slack line sensitivity isn't as paramount as some bass fishing situations.

Looks like it will blow-up plenty of upper Mississippi River smallmouth bass (and eyez); my namesake!

"eyez" aka walleyes.
I absolutely love catching 'eyes on artificials/techniques primarily utilized by bass folks. 8-)

Re: Small but Mighty, the Deadly Megabass Dark Sleeper

Curious. Question for everyone that fishes the Dark Sleeper. Do you get more fish when fishing the bait more like a jig (as I mostly do), or via straight retrieves, like a swimbait (as Wolbugger does in Florida)? I was only able to fish this bait once or twice before ice over this past year. I was ...

I want to pass out some credit for the Pixzilla concept. Christian Tanno (are you still out there?), Cal (of course), D.R. Fielding (haven't seen DR in years now) and myself. We birthed Pixzilla. Keep it orange! :big grin: D.R. Fielding was a superb guy to deal with.. D.R. tuned an OG Zillion for m...

Re: Megabass of America's 2017 Destroyer - Ownage is Onager

Great review Cal. It put me over the top, and I pulled the trigger on one today from The Tackle Trap.

I just happen to have a Shrapnel looking for a home as well. 8-)
