Re: TDA 153 HSTA

I use mine on a Daiwa S rod (6'3") for jerks and spooks. My Tierra (basically the same reel) is on my Carolina rig rod. Love them nth. Out casts my Revo stx and curado e's.

Re: SunLine announced their 2-for-1 deal

Anyone noticed the only place apparently doing this is TW? (Not Hi's, Monster, T.H.U.T., BTD).
Looking for 8lb super and TW doesn't list it.

Re: Daiwa Tatula or T3 Ballistic

My Ballistic XSL came with a little metal insert, so there is no more gouging issues. As an aside, Aluminum is a VERY VERY soft metal and can be gouged too. I love my T3

Re: Phenix Rod Question

Is it a Gen 1 or 2? Gen 1's were a bit more of a MH than H. Gen2's upped the power but kept the more moderate tip. You want stiffer go with an M1.

Re: What's a Warranty worth to you?

People get Warranty and Guarantee confused. Breaking a rod in a door and having it covered is a guarantee. Warranty is an insurance/assurance that if "Rods Inc.'s" product fails due to a pre-sale issue they will replace or repair it. Warranty should be 6 months on blanks and a year on build. If ther...

Re: Diesel 705CB - can it handle the real Deep Divers

Any updates on this rod? I'm looking for a rod that can handle cranks that dive 10-15' and deal with occasional grass.

Re: Phenix Recon Handle Lenghts

It's short but when you factor in how TW measures and the design (no exposed threads in front), it doesn't feel off/PDF at all. So seeing 13" as a measurement seems short, it's not really. My 715/Zillion is my favorite setup. With my 766/STX being a close 2nd.

Re: Carbon Alloys? Calling for a test.

As a longtime member of the cycling industry. It's all about the proper material for the intendend application. Those Daiwa videos are great, but a rotor will never ever see forces acted upon it in the manner that press is putting on it. If you read "carbon alloy" anywhere you can assume that it's m...

Re: USPS broken rod

Keep going higher and higher with UPS when and if they deny it. The lower folks will just Parrot the "not packed by a professional" excuse. Get to a higher up and calmly and rationally explain the issue and you'll stand to get a better resolution. Yes having the UPS store pack your item will negate ...

Re: when is the recon2 out?

Maybe Vince or Cal can answer this:We all are aware of the "underpowering" with G1's. In the TT write up the G2's were knocked up 1/2 a power. Assuming the action is the same between generations. Would someone that LOVES his 715 G1, look into purchasing a 714 G2 if they wanted another rod down the l...

Random Zillion screw question.

So I have a Zillion 100 SHLA and it is missing a screw from the handle side plate (lowest, most to the rear). Does anyone know the size of this screw? Thanks in advance!

Sideplate diameter difference between 300 and 400 series?

I am looking at getting a swimbait reel and am really interested in the 300 and 400 sized reels (Cardiff). I know the 300 is the same size as the 200, just wider. Is the 400 wider still (same side plate) or did they have to make it larger. I'm asking because I don't want to get a reel as large as a ...

Re: Reacon 796 & 766 weight ?

My 766 with a Curado 201E spooled with 50lb PP balances right on the print on the knob that secures the reel to the rod (~1" in front of the front of the reel).
