Re: It’s 2018, why are you buying reels from the past
i still have two 09 aldebaran mgs that i sent to Ian some time ago and a stock Core 51E with a longer handle. No plans on selling them along side some newer JDM reels. was easier to let go of the 51 and 201 green curados. the chronarch 51mg not so much. i almost bought another 09 alde on ebay the ot...

Re: Megabass Orochi XX... What’s next for the USDM??
got a few hours in with the FSS. seems better balanced and a little more crisp than the previous version. i threw a 1/2oz red eye lipless and 3/8oz MB Dog XSS. Felt great casting and walking the MB bait. a 1/2 lipless is about as high as i will go with this rod. would not be ideal for lipless in gra...

Re: NRX warranty
So the Xpeditor doesn't require you to be the original owner? That would be awesome. nope. call them and they ship the rod to you with a paid return shipping label (use same tube). you have 30 days to mail it back or they charge the card you paid the fee with for full amt of rod. they ship very fas...

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods
As a side note, ALF has some serious deals on the Conquests right now via their ebay store, a CNQ 843c for like $525 and a CNQ 842 for like $575. Anyone know if there is going to be a price drop, or is this just a pricing-robot error? not sure but ive always bought NRX and GLX at 20-30% off of reta...

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods
How does the Conquest 843c compare to a 843c GLX? i have not fished the newest version of the 843 GLX but have fished the classic GLX 843 and GLX 783 (still my favorite spinnerbait rod) and NRX 843. hopefully Gary can compare to the newest version. the CNQ 843 in my hands seems more powerful than a...

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods
i found the 843 to be noticeably more powerful than the NRX version. i was casting a chatterbait/paddle tail that i later weighted out to be 26 grams and it was in the wheelhouse. did not feel heavy on the cast and was perfect on the retrieve. unfortunately the biggest fish i could produce was about...

Re: First look at new Megabass Orochi XX rods
Gary - have you had a chance to fish the PP? Curious to know if it has the same tip as the old one and if it would be just as good of a frog rod. I have other stuff for pitching so this would be a dedicated frog rod. If the old one is better suited, ill be lurking on here early next wk

Re: Megabass Javelin Uses
although ive never fished the javelin, it sounds like it would be great for long casting lipless cranks in grass, chatterbaits and other single hook moving baits. i dont like too much bend for those and fish them with FC. next on the list!

Re: Chatterbait rod
i love throwing skirtless bladed jigs with keitech trailers. i typically use a MH fast for grass, open water or moderate cover. for slow rolling a heavy one on the bottom ill use a heavy power. i can recommend these: old GLX 783 - roll casts and pitching to laydowns old GLX 843, NRX 843. Destroyer D...

St Croix LE for dropshot
Hello, Ive been sitting on a damaged St. Croix LE rod that I plan on sending in. I'd like to trade it for a LE spinning rod, ML power for light dropshot. Would you recommend the ES610MLXF? The Mojo version is labeled the "drop shot/finesse" rod. Does the LE version share the same characteristics? Th...

Re: Spining Rod Opinions
the nrx 852s is hands down the best spinning rod ive ever fished. Ive fished F and XF Med and ML LEs, Avids, other NRX, GLX. The NRX 852 is noticeably softer in the top section than the 2016 LES7MF. I'd say it sits between a St.Croix ML and M in power in the upper part of the rod. You can find NRXs ...

^^^ x 2
great t-rig and small jig rod when your not tossing into the mess.
a totally different rod from the XX DSR. doesnt load as well but better suited for bottom contact IMO. feels like a medium power rod in hand (light, well balanced and crisp). if it were a loomis id call it a 3.5 power.
