Re: Abu round reel fans - 2013 Morrum ZX 1600/3600 MAG
Purefishing says it will be available end of June. Hope they are easier to get than the red ZX's.

Re: Abu round reel fans - 2013 Morrum ZX 1600/3600 MAG
I WILL get one if they are available. That is one beautiful reel. I have been looking at it every day for over a week. I really like the mag brake, especially with the new configuration. 4 magnets were just not enough for the Sx Ultra mags, though they worked great with the SX mags and their slightl...

Re: ABU Revo LTZ AE-74 Abu's factory BFS weapon.
My LTZ arrived today. I've only used it about an hour but I am very impressed. The mag brake is definitely different than the LTX, totalally different number and configuration. This thing cast the light jigs I throw amazingly well. I do very little lpitching but I could pitch a panfish jig that weig...

Re: Long Panfish Rod Blank
I have been building panfish rods, both spinning and casting, out of fly rod blanks for over 30 years. Yes , they do work great! Just make sure you don't over flex the rod while landing a fish, I learned that the hard way years ago.

Re: Boca bearings
I bought a used Sx morrum 3601 Ultra Mag , with the stock bearings it was VERY touchy. I put a new set of orange seals in it and it improved more than I could have hoped for. One of the stock bearings wasn't in the best shape but what a difference through a broad rang of mag brake settings. Now I ha...

Re: Question for those using left handed reels
I crank with my left hand because I right hand and arm is stronger plus better coordinated. I tried to switch to right hand crank reels because I got tired of the limited availability of left hand crank reels. I had a terrible time setting the hook holding the reel in my left hand. I really don't th...

Re: Abu Garcia reels?
I've used Abu reels since the early 70's and have seen many . many changes in quality and performance. The reels they made in the 80's and 90's were a disgrace,IMO, but the new reels, though I am disappointed they are not made in Sweden, are very good. I had spells where I switched to Shimano and Da...

Re: abu 2600c iar
Another upgrade that all of you may be interested in is the Avail 6:1 drive gears. I bought a set for my 2501 Teal CDL and tried them today. They are not super smooth , but smooth enough and I really like them. I have upraded the spool bearings and adde a 2 bearing idler, but I can't find a levelwin...

Re: Anyone tried Rainshadow Rx8 blanks?
I recently bought 2 of the RX8's , a 6'2" walleye blank rated at 1/4oz and a 3/8 oz, 7' popping blank and I am very pleased. Straight , light and the titanium color really looks nice with many thread combos, I used Fish Hawk silk sparkle in a silver and they came out very nice. . I will use them to ...

Re: Sub $200 finesse baitcaster? ($200ish...)
If you are not throwing below 1/8 oz, don't overlook a Gen2 Revo Premier. I primarlily fish for white bass throwing 1/8 and 1/4 oz jigs mostof the time with 4 to 8 lb test line. The Premier is the best reel for my use that I have used in 30 years of fishing. I sold my pixy and Alphas R and the only ...

Re: abu 2600c iar
Great info. I don't really think there are many who truly understand how good these little reels cast. I have the avail and mag brake in a 2601CIAR and it is the easiest casting reel I have ever used. It can cast light baits VERY easy . Timeless little reels.
