Re: homemade spooling station

Nice handy tool. I would need to make one myself. I got the cheap Berkley one and it's falling apart now.

Re: Baitcaster pawl - grease or oil?

One drop of oil should do it. Grease are little too much for the paw.
I use grease for gears only.

Re: new curado?

The G was still an improvement over the old SF model. It had the same features plus HEG and a higher max drag. I do not see this as a Curado light. We marketed the reel as a Curado which it is. The Citica has always been a spec'd down version of the Curado, so does that make the older Curado's a re...

I've been a big fan of your reviews for years but registered to forum because some buddies in bbc refer me here.

Re: Recommendation For a Small Fishfinder

To get a good fish finder under $100, U will have to buy an used one or U can hunt for a clearance one from the store.

GoPro is definitely on my shopping list for this X-Mas.
Anyone know where they have it on sale (ie, black Friday)?

Just call TW and they honor that 20% for Shimano reels.

Shimano CH150CI4HG should do it.

Re: Stradic Ci4+ or Dawia Ballisic Spinnig Reels

I cannot speak for Daiwa since I use strictly Shimano reels.
If U used the Ci4 reel before, here are few plus things about Ci4+:
1) little lighter
2) smoother to take the fish in (resulted from X-ship tech?)

Re: Gear Ratios?

Most of my reels are 7:1 or higher. I want to bring the fish in fast.
I only use 6.x:1 for jigs (sometimes) and 5.x: for crank baits

Re: Small Nicks in Spinning Reel Spool Lip - What to do?

Those nicks can only get worse with time.
I rather lose some color and get them straight.
I normally do a wet sand with 600-800 grid or buff it up with dremel tool.

Re: Need help "switching hands" (righty to lefty)

I did try the lefty baitcast for a while but did not feel too comfortable in reeling big fishes in so I stay with righty and keep switching ... Another reason I stay with righty reels is some of my reels are not available for lefty. On spinning, I crank with lefty ... lots of my buddies doing the sa...

Re: Favorite Baitcast Reel Line For Backing ?

Why bother with mono line for backing? too much work.
Few layer of teflon tape will do the job fine. I'm 100% braid guy now and I use this for all my reels.

Re: Reel butter oil

I have tried many different oils for bearing and find rocket fuel yellow is the best.
If U have not used it, give it a try.
