I'll soak the bearings in acetone today and clean them. Then just a drop of light oil, and see if that helps.

I see I've been using too much oil and grease.
I thought, since they look like wheel bearings, they should be packed with grease. DOH!!!!

spinning reel anti-reverse bearings lube?

I have several older Quantum spinning reels.
They sat for a long time.
Now the anti-reverse bearing doesn't engage, and I have to back reel all the time.
Do I need to lube those bearings, and, if so, with what?

Thanks. I usually tie directly to my swimbaits, but use split rings or snaps on my cranks and topwaters, to get more action. It never occured to me that adding a snap or split ring would enhance the action on my swimbaits, too. Doh!!!! And it is much easier to tie on a snap with a palomar knot than ...

Cal,
I noticed you used a snap when you fished the Smoothie, but Zander didn't.
Is there a reason you used a snap?
