Re: When Braid Has Clear Advantage Over Fluorocarbon ?
Comes down to the conditions. When it's windy, fluorocarbon is the best. Fluoro transmits the bites through slack line the best. Braid bows out in the wind moreso than any type of line, which makes it difficulty to detect strikes, control the lure, and set the hook. When it's dead calm and water isn...

Re: New Shimano Chronarch VS Abu Mgx
Chronarch CI4+ is probably better in every category, all speculation until it comes out though. I would take a Curado/Chronarch 50e over an MGX, double the drag pressure and better casting performance. The MGX should be able to take on a Core 50mg7, but even the $200 50e beats the MGX IMO. I wouldn'...

Re: Hook of Choice for Senkos
For wacky rigging a 5" senko: Owner Wacky hook, size 2/0
For texas rigging, 4/0 EWG (either Owner J hook or new VMC Widegaps).

Re: Which of these Shimano frames to you prefer?
The new 200 frames are the size of the old 100 frames.
Smaller is better for lighter lures. 50e/mg7 is the best frame I've used, I only use a 200 size reel for resistance baits and lures over a 1/2 oz.

Re: Chronarch CI4+
Pull your brain up, Nytron. You ignorance is showing! You know nothing about me, and yet you ass-u-me I haven't used the new product? Now that is the definition of a baseless comment. So you are saying you have used a Chronarch CI4+? Please tell us more about the reel then, instead of bashing it wi...

Re: Chronarch CI4+
Oh yeah, something I just noticed after I took a closer look at the video. This reel is based on the 50e/50mg7 form factor (2013 metanium), much to my delight. So I am thinking the "Chronarch CI4" might be a submodel within the Chronarch name, and they will continue to make the 200E/50e models? Is t...

Re: Chronarch CI4+
Sorry for the long reply, if you are new to this thread don't read it. I am replying to people that are trying to crap on the new reel. What exactly is fishability & which reel are you referring to as not having it? Casting- All the top tier reels will cast great. For any moving baits, retrieve feel...

Re: Chronarch CI4+
CI4+ material = deal breaker for me. I'll stick with my D7's. You won't buy a reel because it contains a material you have yet to use? LOL okay, you do that. :crying: [-X Seriously though, your sentiment is asinine. You are implying shimano stick with an old aluminum bulky design, versus leading th...

Re: walleye strategy for river
Use light fluorocarbon main line, the line will sink in the current allowing your lure to have the proper action.
I have had success with bright colors and nail weights/rattle inserts.
I caught my biggest walleye on the river in 3ft of water on a weightless texas rig, 4/0 owner ewg, rattle insert.

50e has my attention now, the D frame is a distant memory.
