Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!
we are only allowed two rods per person up here, but when fishing solo, I've often wished for that third rod. Once I have a second in the boat, the four rods are enough. mad respect running a six rod spread between two anglers, considering one of ya was controlling the boat. hard work! That Salmon i...

Re: NRX users…what’s your top three (or four) rods in the lineup?
I don't have an issue throwing a 3/4 ounce on my 873crr. As long as it doesn't have a massive trailer or something.
but everyone has their own comfort levels.

Re: NRX users…what’s your top three (or four) rods in the lineup?
you saw many people mentioned the 873CRR. I know a ton of folk who love that rod, and I don't think any of them use it as a carolina rig rod. It's a great jig rod to 3/4 ounce. It also cranks those swim baits and chatter baits along in the thick stuff. Even good for vertical approaches with lighter ...

Re: Rod Is Probably the Most Important for Topwater (or Any Style of Fishing)
I went to my garage, and checked some of my old rods that I haven't used for years. I found an All Star Zell Roland Topwater rod. I think this one is also about 25 years old, and I remember it worked similar to the Daiwa Light and Tough Topwater rod. I preferred the Daiwa, but this Zell Roland rod ...

I'm definitely part of the 10% on here who doesn't consider the colour of their reel in any way.
to consider buying a reel (or rod) based on colour is completely foreign.

Re: Braid to Leader - what's your knot of choice?
fish for just about every species of freshwater fish that swims. use flouro leads from 8lbs to 80lbs (smallies to muskie). I only use the surgeons knot for tying my flouro lead to my braid mainline. It can take muskie and salmon, can be tied in the dark (in seconds)....it's is truly the best knot (a...

Re: What’s your dream spinning setup to have ready?
If i'm fishing open water senko's I move to the NRX 803s with a 3000 Sustain. It does what I need it to when not fishing thick. I use an NRX 802s for tube fishing (open water lake erie), but it also works as a great jerkbait rod (nothing I would purchase for jerkbaits, but certainly doubles as one)....

Re: What’s your dream spinning setup to have ready?
My Baby:
Stella Blue (as I've named her)
She's the senko queen. I fish senko's in thick cover, but love using spinning tackle. So after many rods I ended up on the NRX Inshore XMR 804 spinning rod. (blue edition).
I use an older but bulletproof Stella 2500fb.
The senko slayer.

Re: What is your primary line setup?
56 current rod/reel combos. aside from the wire, leadcore, and copper combo's, it appears 49 of my combo's are braid. A few of them have 50lbs, and the rest have 30lbs braid. thank god for bulk spools. I run straight braid on my frogs, poppers, spinner baits and jerk baits...all other setups get a f...

Re: Inshore casting setups
I agree.
The shortest of the inshore rods I use are 8'3".
9' is the sweet spot.
But I guess that's not going to work if your inshore fishing includes fishing around tight structure, mangroves, etc.

while I don't have the salt water experience for inshore, we have similar for inshore casting for salmon in the great lakes.
