Shimano maintenance port question
Bantam, I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't find the thread, so I ask your forgiveness in advance. I just bought a Stella and a Stradic CI4. These are my first reels with a maintenance port . The paperwork shows putting oil on the drive gears through the port. Do these gears get oil or g...

Re: Dual Braking Reels??
The dual brake system is extremely simple. First set the spool tension so the cast control knob is barely touching or or one click less and forget about it. Next set the number of centrifugal brakes at a point where you allmost have enough control (with mag backed off), and finally fine tune your co...

Re: Dream UL combo
I just bought my first Stella, a Jdm 2000,and put it on a 9' 5wt that I just built as a spinning rod . I'll use it to white bass fish, as soon as the river clears up. I can't wait.

Re: Dual Braking Reels??
I set mine with allmost enough centrifugal brake and fine tune with the external mag brake. Very good reel.

Re: Reel guru's please: Internal brakes
I don't believe it matters. I get close with the centrifugal brake, and fine tune with the external mag brake. I love this set-up , I would rather fine tune with a mag brake than a mechanical brake (cast control knob). I like to keep very little or no tension on the spool tips and the dual brake sys...

Re: Spiral Wrap Setup
Great thread! Until this year I really didn't use the simple spiral . I have just finished 10 light or ultra light baitcasters for white bass fishing and I have found on these small diameter blanks the flow of line with a simple spiral can be very straight with the 1st and 3rd guide offset 30' inthe...

Re: Premier 2010 Is it power, finesse, or both?
When I was about to buy my first Premier someone on this board advised me "though the Premier isn't really a finesse reel it has a lot of finesse in it". Truer words could not be spoken. I use mine to throw 1/8 and 1/4 oz panfish jigs with 4 or 6Lb line. It works flawlessly. I love this reel.
