I don't think you can go wrong with any of the three.
If you settle on the Type-R Zillion and want a righty, you might check out Academy Sporting Goods website. Best retail price I have seen for it.

Re: Damaged JDream Spool
If you don't throw sub 1/4 oz baits and want to save some money you could grab a Zillion Type-R spool from Tackle Warehouse or Tackle Trap.

Re: Daiwa zillion handle
They are correct. The Zillion is a great reel, but the handle on the USDM version is a weakness, as it has only bushings and the knobs are riveted on. The Zillion is similar in quality to the the Chronarch, but a little heavier. Different breaking systems and different feel. Otherwise pretty similar...

Re: First Daiwa (Fuego)
I like this little reel, installed the carbontex drag. That made a huge difference, very smooth now it had a chatter when i got it. I love the new hogtech handle on this reel. Only problem im having with it is since i installed the tdz 100m spool the mag breaks seem to be hit or miss if they want t...

Re: Tatula FYI
http://imageshack.us/a/img69/4386/b3lk.jpg Much better wouldn't you say? It confirmed the pinion bearing is a 8x12x3.5. I upgraded the two spool bearing and the pinion bearing out to Boca Ceramic Lightnings, it's crazy smooth now. The handle must spin twenty time on it's own when given a quick cran...

Re: Ugly Stick GX2
So, BassPro has the Ugly Stik GX2's in stock now. Hoping they would have similar blanks to the Ugly Stik Lite and Walmart Ugly Stik Lite Pro but with new Guides and Handles and Reel Seats I ordered the 7' MH Casting GX2 and had it delivered to the St. Louis Bass Pro. When I arrived to pick it up (al...

Re: Tatula: Trip 1 Review and Impressions
so now the question everybody's gonna be asking themselves issss, will the type r knock out the stx, chronarch 200e, and lews tourney pro I imagine so long as people have differing tastes, each reel line will continue to sell well. From what I have read, the Tatula is a reel that has a lot going fo...

Re: First Daiwa (Fuego)
Havent even got the reel yet and allready I have ordered a tdz 100m spool, carbontex drag, oil and grease. Also have one of hawgtechs new swept handles on the way :D That will be quite a reel when you are done with it. The Fuego is the same shape as the TDZ right? I've never owned either (have a TD...

Freespoolit,
Would you say it is a $150 reel due to build quality or performance or both?

Re: Carbon Fiber Swept Handles at Hedgehog Studios
Nice looking handles. I was all set to order one for a Tatula Type-R 8.1 (when it ships) but they don't make a 100mm version. Bummer.

Re: Which is more important - the reel or the rod?
In spinning and fly fishing for bass, inexpensive reels are adequate and the rod is far more important. In baitcasting, I agree that the reel is more important than the rod for moving baits and the reverse applies to bottom contact bait combos. Second this ^. You can jig with just about any old ree...

Re: Tatula: Initial Impressions w/ Album
I'm a bit bummed that the Tatula has a plastic CC knob. Not a big deal, but it's disappointing. does anyone know if the zillion type-R cast control cap would work on the tatula? less than $10 at TW: http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Daiwa_Zillion_Type-R_Cast_Control_Cap/descpage-TRCCC.html http://img....

Re: Daiwa TaTula
I can't see them making an SV spool for it. I think this will be more of a mainstream reel, not a tuning platform. That could change if they get one in Japan though. I don't know. If this reel continues to build a following like it appears it will it could turn into Daiwa's version of the Skyline. ...

Re: Daiwa TaTula
So if the Tatula is this versatile with the stock spool how good would it be if they come out with an SV spool for it? Will the Universe implode?
