Re: Bassart - Extra parts?

A Bassart for a Daiwa will fit the shaft. The box will have the handle nut, retainer and screw. Nothing extra needed.

Re: Something for fun.. your favorite JDM Daiwa Baitcaster

1. Td-ito
2. Airy Red Pixy
3. Monoblock (Topaz) - and that says something because I'm not a fan of round reels. :!:

LC - only because they have a bigger lineup than Megabass.

Well he's definitely holding his bait to get a 'sling shot' effect
I'd hook myself.

Re: Rod Blanks

After buying several customs, I'll completely agree with Matt and Jimmy. Pick a use for it, decide what your priorities are and then go for a blank. There are so many decisions and details to work out with a builder. Here's a list...I may have left something out: Blank selection - length, power, act...

Re: Samurai braid?

Check out the 8-way braid shootout in the review section. Good stuff there.

I love Samurai braid. Very soft and easy to use.

Re: copolymer line?

I use copoly primarily for cranking. I have used it for drop-shotting before, but I like FC better. For moving baits like cranks and spinnerbaits, copoly is excellent!

Re: What worm rod is the best? Help me!

You may be right about the resonant frequency, I've never tested a rod on an oscilloscope, but my point is simply that not everyone equates a higher resonant frequency with increased sensitivity. I'm sure you know fishermen, at least I do, who feel that their old glass rods are every bit as sensiti...

Re: What worm rod is the best? Help me!

Yes - in fact. For example, you can build on a SCIV with micros ( a "lesser blank" than the GLX) and have a lighter finished rod with better vibration transmission (higher resonant frequency) than a finished GLX with Recoils. It is quantifiable - ergo fact . It becomes obvious then, that an equival...

Re: What worm rod is the best? Help me!

There are other blanks that have the proper deflection angle for plastics. In fact, a lesser blank with a better rod design will outperform (power vs weight, overall weight, vibration transmission) the GLX for about the same price tag. In fact? Seems to me such a statement would most responsibly be...

A suspending jerkbait...or a lipless.

Re: What worm rod is the best? Help me!

No doubt a custom rod is nice. Just one problem  Can't get a GLX xfast action blank and for dedicated plastics I like the true x-fast action. Given this, I recommend a BCR 803 GLX for general purpose. If you are fishing the nasty stuff you may need more rod but it meets most of my needs and t...
