GRANDT Rods?
I was searching around and stumbled upon Grandt Rods (http://www.grandtrods.com/index.php?route=common/home). Has anyone used them and can give a review of these rods and hopefully compare them to others they have used previously?

Good information. I for one didn't know about it before and will keep this in mind in the future.

Re: Ultralight Reel Suggestion
You might want to post on the topic right before this about the Cabelas reel and see if others have had some good experiences with them. The last I checked one person received it and said he liked it. I seem to remember back then that there was a BPS Micro Elite something reel that used to be good. ...

Re: Steez EX Spool Bearing & Drag Upgrade?
I was wondering if I would be able to get significant (>=10%) improvement by upgrading the spool bearings and drag on my Steez EX (STEEZEX100HL)? And if so any suggestions for what spool bearings, spool bearing pin tool and drag I should be getting would be appreciated. It's my first upgrade projec...

Essential Fishing Accessories
Hi Guys, I was wondering what you would consider essential accessories that you use on a frequent basis both on the water and off (for preparation). My own list off the top of my head would include: 1. Rod Sleeves 2. Reel Covers 3. Line Conditioner 4. Pliers 5. Nail Clipper 6. Hook Sharpener 7. Reel...

Dental floss for the guides... shoe string, braided line with clothe around. Or use those eyelash things the ladies have.

Re: Scenario question
This has actually happened several times to me as well. Once with a catfish and several times with trout and steelhead. I fish in areas where there can be a lot of heavy vegetation, sunken/partially submerged wood and plenty of rock structure. At first I tried muscling the fish out with some limited...

Re: Nano Braids
Had my hands on Gliss but seeing as it's not out in North America, I wasn't allowed to take any to use. So far from what I've seen, 40# test thinner than your traditional 10# braid. Surprisingly thin it's almost scary. Definitely wouldn't be comfortable flipping with the 40# until someone proves ot...

Re: How long of a leader do you like to use?
Depends on the fish and type of fishing. Generally 3-5 foot, but it depending on the situation I could forgo the leader on braid or have it up to 12 feet long if I'm fishing for Kokanee or trout in certain areas & conditions. Say what you will about bass (I have no clue if they are line shy or not) ...

Re: Sealed cork handles. What product?
You really don't need to apply too much to it. I noticed that it made my cork slightly darker.

It has happened once in a while with me as well. The color leaches off the line pretty badly and stains things.

Re: Stormr Typhoon Jacket
For a general purpose raincoat (whether for fishing or just daily use) I have a thin Marmot. Everyone will have their own unique preferences but the things I look for a rain jacket is a good fit especially around the neck and head region because when monsoon season hits in some areas the fit will de...

Re: Bought a Salmon Rod for Saltwater Bass and Fresh?
It will definitely work. I would have suggested going to a sportsman's show nearby and getting one on sale but since you have it already fish on. Generally all salmon/steelhead rods have a softer tip.

Re: How to apply cork sealant?
You don't even need a brush really. I just used some old socks and just applied a little after cleaning it.
You can use masking tape to cover up the parts you don't want the cork sealant to get on.
