Re: Curado DC levelwind not moving.

I had a similar problem on one of my Chronarchs--it was 5383 on the schematic that Slazmo posted. I forgot what it's called, but one of the 2 prongs/teeth was broken and the line guide was stuck stationary.

Re: Mid Diving Flat Sides

Fished the Rapala Ott's OG Slim earlier this week and caught a couple of nice fish--then it broke into 3 pieces...

It has a really nice tight wobble and runs great--just don't slap the water and be gentle with them.

I'll be picking up some more.

Re: P5 ZCE versatility

Might want to also consider the Dark Sleeper rod. I just recently picked up the Oneten Special, which is rated with a fast action and it's definitely rated correctly. I would imagine the regular taper on the ZCE would be a bit too slow--especially since it'll have a more moderate taper being a crank...

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?

Never owned a Champion Extreme rod, I'll take people by their word that the HP rods are indeed overrated. The only Dobyns I have in that area are DX806 and 807 swimbait rods, which perform well in my mind for what they are (broomsticks). I do have an Xtasy, which I don't feel is overrated; it hangs...

Re: Swimbait rod recs for 1-4oz, under 7’7

I ended up purchasing a Leviathan Omega Swimbait Heavy from TW through the sale. It's a bit longer since it's 8', but it has a nice parabolic bend do it. It bends deeper down the blank than a Dobyns Champion 795SB. Only issue that I found is that the handle is made up of 2 pieces and they don't alig...

Re: GeeCrack

Heck, I mix other soft plastics inside my Geecrack bags. The more stank the better. Was fishing with my buddy a few weeks back and he sprays Bang garlic all over his chatterbait, and within a couple casts he hooks into an 18 pound salmon on the CA Delta. Sucker was pulling his 19' boat and ripping ...

Re: 3D Printed Knob Removal Wrench

How do you guys remove the caps on the Daiwa power handles with the big foam knobs? It's the knobs with the 2 circles that you need some sort of key to remove. You need this https://www.anglerscentral.my/products/special-knob-cap-wrench-for-daiwa Or you can bend an old fork and use it I was looking...

Re: Product News

How you finding the durability on them to be? As a terminal nerd with mild ocd I'm always looking for better ways to organize. I've had one for around a year, (think the XL) that I keep all of my small trout stuff in, (split rings, snaps, spoons, etc) So far it has proven to be a little tank. There...

Re: Do You still Use Lures that You Bought, When You're a Kid?

I didn't start bass fishing till 2008; so I don't have anything substantially old. If I had some lures that were 30+ years old--I'd be hanging those up on a wall!

I ended up buying a Leviathan Omega 8' Heavy for glides ;(

It was between one of these and the Leviathan and I needed a glide bait rod.

You could also buy bare hooks and use some lead wire wrapped around the shank to adjust the weight how you want it.

Re: Tackle Storage - In house VS garage

Unless you can get your garage to stay around 72 degrees all year round--I would say to keep them inside.

All my stuff stays inside a closet in my house--it doesn't get stored in the garage except for maybe a day or two when I'm unloading and coming back from a fishing trip.

Re: Bass Fishing Not Very Popular?

Did Covid do sth to fishing over in the US? Here in Germany we saw huge numbers of newbie fishermen during lockdown. I think it's the same here in northern California. I wouldn't say huge, but I started seeing more people. There's been a good number of people that got into bass fishing for sure in ...

Re: Swimbait rod recs for 1-4oz, under 7’7

Bringing this back for personal reasons...looking to upgrade my Dobyns Champion 795SB into something lighter in physical weight for throwing 6" Magdrafts, Slideswimmer 175s, and the like. If it's within your budget range, the Luxxe Efreet B76XH-R weighs 4.515 oz and plenty of power up to 4oz. Do yo...
