Is the Metanium DC a release of the older JDM model or does it have the extra bearing and some features from the current US Metanium MGL. Yeah I don't understand the long shaft reference, all new Shimano's have a pretty similar design but an extra pinion bearing. The spool still rides on 2 bearings when casting, no matter what design (free floating, Infini 2, Shimano, cheaper Daiwa, etc.). I do wish Daiwa would up the support on cheap...
