Re: NEW: Daiwa Tatula 100 (based off Steez)
I'd rather they not make a Zillion out of this new tatula and I wish Daiwa would kill off the old box Tatulas. I don't want to look at a Zillion and see a Tatula. I also believe Zillions should be butter smooth 8oz tanks. Maybe they can use the old Tatula Zillion platform like with the new Zillion ...

Re: zillion 50th or type r vs steeze A
I can only comment on the Steez A and light lures. The standard spool is good (with an adequate rod) for around 3/8oz lures. If you want to use lighter lures swap the spool (as I did) and you can easily throw 1/4 oz lures. Amazing reel. Fits well in the hand, super smooth and relatively light. What...

Re: Lew's Tournament Pro - icast
I am still not sure about the pinion's support. I wonder if they have single support and a different design/location or true dual support like Shimano's X-Ship and Daiwa Free floating spools... I really hope it is a dual supported pinion, this would be a huge step for Lew's reels. Would like to use ...

Re: NEW: Daiwa Tatula 100 (based off Steez)
The new sanded cork are the revised Tatula rods. The Elite rods are still going to be silver with EVA. As for he Zillion casting reel rumor has it they are being discontinued due to the new Tatula variants. This is what I was told at the daiwa booth today. That would shock me. Daiwa's most known re...

Re: 2018 Curado DC (Merged Topic)
Is the Metanium DC a release of the older JDM model or does it have the extra bearing and some features from the current US Metanium MGL. There were rumors the spool was different, I just wasn't sure and it looked very close to the original JDM Metanium DC (which is still a top tier reel, regardless).

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
I am wondering now if the Tatula spools will fit the new 100. If anyone sees a compatibility on aliexpress I would like to know!!! It looks like it will fit. Zander has a pic of the CT and 100 frames cut in half and mated together with a 100 spool. The diameter at least looks to be the same. Check ...

Re: Where are the shimanos?
Just got my hands on the new Alde 51 MGL HG. Had to order an 843 conquest to go with it. IMG_4744.JPG Does the spool look much different than the JDM 30??? From what I can tell they are pretty much the same... I haven’t seen or handled the 30 in person but in pics and on video they look the same. I...

Re: ICAST 2018 Rumors
This has been a poor ICAST so far for me. Shimano is killing it. Great looking $99 price point reel, under $300 DC reel, new Aldebaran, the Metanium DC being the same as the older one (loosing a bearing, no MGL/DC hybrid spool) doesn't make much sense, but everything else has been good. Daiwa... my ...

Re: NEW: Daiwa Tatula 100 (based off Steez)
Yeah I don't understand the long shaft reference, all new Shimano's have a pretty similar design but an extra pinion bearing. The spool still rides on 2 bearings when casting, no matter what design (free floating, Infini 2, Shimano, cheaper Daiwa, etc.). I do wish Daiwa would up the support on cheap...

Re: NEW: Daiwa Tatula 100 (based off Steez)
The handle nut seems so bad to me because even the Tatula CT doesn't have that design. Some of the videos they showed had a black lock plate that looked okay though. This is why I'm forced to wait for the Type R or Zillion version. Maybe I should just own up and get a Steez???

Re: It happened, the Trulinoya Daiwa
Maybe they are putting the cheap stuff off on Chinese manufacturers and reserving the other plants for higher end reel manufacture? Would be awesome to see the Tatula-Zillion-Steez class all moved to Japan eventually. The cheaper reels could stay cheap and the nicer ones could go all out. I am not t...

Re: NEW: Daiwa Tatula 100 (based off Steez)
Any rumors on the SV version? I made a call to a few tackle shops with knowledgeable workers... Said they were not able to tell me anything. I asked about the SV version of the Tatula, the Zillion revamp, and a few others. They said that some big things are coming but they couldn't discuss what or ...
